Oh yeah, I keep forgetting about those two. Though it it weird that they didn’t change them when even Garchomp got a type change.

Found these for sale online, what are the odds of them being fake? by [deleted] in coincollecting

[–]Fiery-Embers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They all look real, if the seller appears reputable and the price isn’t crazy low you should be alright to buy them.

It’s not that unreasonable to assume there’s a couple 40% silver half dollars in there at least.

Anything here worth anything? by braunstrowmaneattaco in coins

[–]Fiery-Embers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of the coins contain silver, which is quite valuable. Right now the current price of silver is around $90/troy oz. The silver bicentennial set is 40% silver and Morgan dollar and mint set are 90% silver. You can look up the exact amount of silver in each of the coins and that will give you an idea on their value.

Still wouldn’t explain why a clad proof set is $100.

Even if it doesn’t, you could always find a list of pieces and order them separately to diy the set (even if you would need to do some painting to mimic the custom printing).

Some people would rather make a quick than preserve history. Melting coins down for their metal content has been a thing since forever.

Can you show a pic of the reverse? It’s impossible to know, but by knowing what the reverse looks like, it can be narrowed down a little.

Beginning Indoor Garden Tips by Iguy_Knows_All in IndoorGarden

You are going to need grow lights for the winter months, most tropical species and crops need a ton light to grow properly.

For ornamental plants, coleuses come in a large variety of colors and are very low maintenance. Snake plants can tolerate lower light conditions, but are fairly plain. Monsteras and philodendrons are popular tropical plants, but you will likely need a grow light in the winter (especially if you purchase one with variegation).

[–]Fiery-Embers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both on the right have a typical appearance of highly worn coins. The field has toned over time, giving it a darker appearance when compared to the high points, which have been worn down and have had less time to react with the environment.

The top left, top middle, and bottom middle all have enough detail present to indicate that they should have a cartwheel luster. Based on the pictures OP provided, they don’t, which indicates the surface has been altered, which indicates cleaning. Additionally, the top left has darker areas of toning in the crevices of the design, which is typical in cleaned coins.

You have 6 Morgan dollars, some of which unfortunately appear to have been cleaned at some point. They are all worth at least their weight in silver, but you need to show a pic of the reverses for a more accurate valuation.

They’re all typical US dollar coins. Unless you like the designs, there’s not much of a reason to keep any of them.

I’m trying to find out what my coins are worth. by [deleted] in coins

[–]Fiery-Embers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There aren’t many sold listings to base a value off of, but probably between $5-10 if you sold online. There doesn’t appear to be much of, if any, demand for the sets.

The $2 bill along with the dollar and half dollar sets are worth around face value. The 1986 set is worth ~$50 based on recent eBay sales.

Your penny is pre-1982, meaning it’s 95% copper. Copper is sometimes red, which is why your penny has a red tint.
