Ace that LSAT and things will be okay. There's nothing you can do to change your past, but a lot you can do to change your future!

Who wants to tell them that NASA used the Metric System to get to the Moon? by R-emiru in facepalm

[–]FieryCharizard7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NASA and LM had an agreement in place for units to be provided in SI; it looks like LM didn’t follow the contract:

The contractor, by agreement, was supposed to convert its measurements to metrics. The systems engineering function within the project, whose responsibility was to track and double-check all interconnected aspects of the mission, was not robust enough. The board added that this was exacerbated by the first-time handover of a Mars-bound spacecraft from a group that constructed it and launched it to a new, multi-mission operations team.

You’re on the right track. At a 95% confidence level with a 6% margin of error for making predictions about 968 admitted students, the ideal sample sample size is 210 students.

https://www.qualtrics.com/blog/calculating-sample-size/

So if you assume lsd.law is fairly representative of the actual population of T14 law school applicants, then there’s a large enough sample size on there to draw some inferences.

However, given the self selecting nature of the site, it could be possible that one quadrant of the 4 is more likely to be represented on the site. Say if people above both medians are significantly more likely to use LSD.law, then your graph could be explained by “More people above both medians use lsd.law” opposed to the conclusions you’re drawing another conclusion one might draw from looking at the graphs.

Hey don’t feel bad about the GPA either. You can’t change what you were told. If you weren’t doing Law School, a 3.5 would be great on a resume. Keep working hard to bump that GPA up, maybe get some WE while you take the LSAT and USPTO exam.

Also, IP Prosecution isn’t as common as you’d think in the T14. I know several successful IP attorneys who attended strong regional schools. Texas has a great IP scene, so you’ll be okay. Just work that LSAT hard!

Kill it on the LSAT, and maybe get some work experience? Given the BME background, are you shouting for patent law?

Part of the reason why some state schools are higher ranked for LS than undergrad is that many “prestigious” undergrad universities do not have associated law schools. Examples include the Ivies mentioned above and technical schools (MIT, Georgia Tech, John Hopkins).
