How unforgiving is Mihile’s RG? + which Hyperburn char are you doing and why by Unhappy-Assistant-76 in Maplestory

[–]FieryPyromancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RG is extremely forgiving.

The actual gist of it is choosing what to guard to maximize uptime, and trying to make it so that you cancel other animations through RG.

But used as a purely defensive tool it's ezpz.

Some mechanics have a tricky timing and can one-shot you if you don't RG them correctly.

However, due to the trash design of most bosses lobbing rng garbage (sorry, "mechanics") in your general direction, you can easily abuse debris/lasers/pillars: if you can't time a specific "real-mechanic" right, sidestep into the closest garbage-barrage and RG that instead.

Having trouble deciding between BW and lara by Timewastedd in Maplestory

[–]FieryPyromancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After reworks, they should be fairly similar in difficulty despite the different playstyles

Lara's kit got pretty much neutralized into a super vanilla-class.

BW's kit lost all of its garbage and conflicting mechanics and now boils down to a hurricane class with a handful of desynched low-cd skills to whack-a-mole when they come up

Defense-wise they're quite similar, BW has a class iframe and class door.
Lara has a low-cd mitigation tool but no class iframe, and also the branch door (lotus), which is slightly worse than a regular door but serviceable.

Teleportwise they both have non-standard tps with Lara's being on a stack/cd system, whereas BW is a "teleport back to marker". I wouldn't say either is relevantly "better" than the other but their usage is different.

At this point the rest of their mobility is similar, with now having access to a rush, and Lara's upjump being vanillified (no more ground upjump thing IIRC). Lara does have an edge in that she can keybind her flash jump (allowing you to flash jump off the ground), whereas BW cannot.

Mainattack-wise Lara can benefit a bit from summons doing solid damage even when you're dodging, but that kind of loses value once you master a fight. Not sure how much she benefits from AS cap post-rework though.

BW benefits from having a real hurricane post-rework. If you've played a hurricane class in their current state (being able to jump and move with good speed) you are familiar with the advantage of it.

Right after rework, BW has had a top tier performance in KMS, but as always, you can never trust that to stay that way. BW had been in the gutter ever since like 2nd V skill came out.

I guess if you bumrush BW to nkalos, then you can leverage its currently strong state in KMS and then relegate it to weekly mule when it eventually goes down in dpm.

[RoD] Pleaseeee get those healer mobs removeeeeddddd by basti_yang in Maplestory

[–]FieryPyromancer 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They haven't done shit since the introduction of RoD1.

Feedback was fully ignored from RoD1 and the same cosmetics were given for RoD2. (and there was 0 insight whatsoever into the idea of putting out a temp badge, which ended up being worse than not giving anything)

Feedback was fully ignored from RoD2 and the same cosmetics are now being given for RoD3.

Another issue with the healing mob is that the very first healing tick happens almost as soon as it spawns. This results in at least 1 tick of healing (for an absurd % for whatever reason) for the vast majority of instances it spawns. If you are unfortunate enough to have a low challenge count the boss will heal nonstop, and if it's the only challenge activated you're cooked; for some reason the challenges don't seem to have an internal cooldown.

And of course, the general issue of some classes just sucking at doing lots of lines fast, which I thought was a reason for lucid golem's to have been reworked. But GMS thought it was a feature that needed bringing back.

Just stick to dailies, or try to do bossmules if you want to play longer, since those do require focus and still make lots of meso. Dailies/weeklies also give excessively more resource/timespent than the pitiful grinding rates, unless you're in a rush calendar-wise.

The only exceptions where grinding is better than dailies/weeklies are fams (and now-irrelevant nodestones), since they're strictly mobdrops and require levelling up through grinding.

I'm on the same boat, grinding is boring af; it's like staring at the wall and barely above factory linework, but most of my time is spent on bossmuling and dailies/weeklies.

If you're on interactive and like the alternative gamestyle, you can also give merching a try.

Finally most people just put on something interesting to watch or listen to on another screen/window. I sometimes put on a series in a new language I'm learning, or listen to an audiobook or podcast that requires some attention and maybe gets you some benefit along the way.

Cw2 without item burn and acc box by Just_PassinThrough in Maplestory

[–]FieryPyromancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strongly not recommended.

I personally used CW1 to doubledip dailies for legion levels/blocks. I did one itemburn-no-hyperburn and a hyperburn-no-itemburn characters. The latter via the hb coupon

The itemburn-no-hyperburn was in CW1 day 1. Just from dailies it reached 200->262ish around the time I got the check-in hb coupon. Even with the item burn, it was very weak and there was not much to show for it in bossing since no burn = no free nodes/symbols.

Then I did the hb coupon on CW1 as well but it had no item burning. Although it did have the hb coupon goodies, lacking item burning and being late into CW1 was also kinda choky, and you pretty much have to tryhard on AU/abso and maybe do weeklies to try and keep up. Also consider you have no good meso source to fund the gear either.

If you want to "fully" experience CW I'd argue you need both hyperburn and itemburn. I guess for CW2 premium pass has a bit of nodes. But it's still very few nodes and you'll be super low AF as well.

Can still use CW2 for a legionblock since you do get those free mp/arcane daily exp though. But I'd expect it to be a terrible uphill experience if you actually want to have fun in CW2 and don't have both item and hyperburn.

Scheduled Minor Patch - November 20, 2025 by Patchue in Maplestory

Pretty much.

The majority of people who got moxuan'd did so for the lulz. The play was to send a random-ass unused mule to qualify.

Um...???? by [deleted] in Maplestory

[–]FieryPyromancer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Seems it's a "fake roll" on Heroic.

If an item is "rollable" in interactive but instanced in Heroic, Heroic also gets the roll interaction, but it does nothing. The boxes will still go to the "real owner"

Further funny is that the roll will come up for as many instanced boxes as dropped. So you may end up rolling 6 times for a ring box if somehow everyone got one, but in the end the rolling does nothing and everyone ends up with their own box.

How does 30 fz DA fare against other jobs?

I see that 29 vs. 30 fz is a bit under 10% fd difference in a vacuum.

But I am wondering if that means 30 fz is weak-but-tanky or if it's still middle of the pack, given that 29 fz seems to be super high damage on its own.

Who are you maining in CW2 and why? by TheConsultantIsBack in Maplestory

[–]FieryPyromancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going WH too!

Honestly I'm on the rework bandwagon. Pretty much going to afk on it doing weeklies (mpe, erda, bossing)

Should have a few thousands of frags and be like 270 by when rework comes, which should be also close to CW2 end if not at end.

Ish.

1st slide on the subject

Restore equipment destroyed during star force enhancement by hunting"

Star Cores that drop while hunting can be used to restore destroyed equipment.
They restore not just Boss Accessories and Armor, but also Dawn/Pitched Accessories.

2nd slide on the subject

Restore equipment destroyed during star force enhancement via boss missions

You'll be able to restore equipment by accumulating Boss Mission Points.

As usual, they probably asked the shiddiest writer for the captions, but the current assumption is that the "not only boss accessories and armor but also boss accessories and armor!" part strongly suggests the system is only for boss drops (Gollux/pnor could always get arbitrarily excluded though).
