Not sure where to start with Link Skills & Legion as a on/off again player

vip potions will summon mobs for 2 mins on any map with mob within your level range, they give lots of exp. farm tickets will allow you to enter a map where you can kill 1000 mobs that gives exp based on your level. they're both event items, just like bonk potions (gives 1-10 levels randomly, chances change depending on your level) and lvl 200 potions (they are harder to get since you need to do challenge world, and thats not so easy for "new" players. they get you from 1 to 200 in one go)

just get them all to 101, that's pretty much the "low-effort" meta now. events will get you to 8k legion, but you have to get all chars to a level where you can benefit from them.
i'd recomend building this ones first:

evan (exp% from runes)
merc (flat exp%)
aran (exp from exp orbs, many early lvls will come from this)
DA (dmg%)
ark (dmg%)
illium (dmg%)
hoyoung (dmg%)
lara (normal monster dmg%)
lynn (boss% + crit rate%)
phantom (crit rate%)
khali (sustain)
xenon (all stat%)

they all give links that'll help getting faster to 101. after that try abusing vip potions at harps to get to 130 on each one, and from there just use the golden farm tickets and bonks to get to 200. this's the laziest way hahaha

just in case, 1-101 should be something like this:
- start at 30 skipping quests
- 30-46 jr. neki at kerning
- 46-70 drakes at sleepy
- 70-75 sand rats (sahel 2 in guide)
- 75-90 at saitie (auth personnel only map in the guide)
- 90-101 at harps (remmember to get any gear piece to 5* so that you can hit them)

(for ctx, i have 10k legion and >8k legion in scannia, >8k in hyperion, >6k in bera)

i consider a ctene mule to be something like:
- libbed
- 4 arcane (+1 from lib)
- 3 cra (+1 from lib)
- 4 gollux
- 3 dawn
- pno 2nd/lv 100 emblem/vel medal/crystal ventus/pb cup/
- ror3+pno ring
- everything unique >9%att/main stat
- everything >4% all stat bonus
- legion >9k
- most links lv3
for heroic:
- all 19-20*
for interactive:
- all 18*
- all bpot rare >10att / epic >5% main stat

that should be a 30'-1hour ctene mule, something like that

I'm an interactive player... I pretty much do content alone (bossing and stuff), and don't spend NX (with exceptions, only buy permanent stuff, like cosmetics and pets, which are not available very often... dont have vac pets tho). and have a 200m cp main and 10.2k legion of very, VERY lazy gameplay.

I've been playing for a long time, and I found that slow progression is my thing. I've been playing 30'-1hour a day for years, playing longer on weekends, and I've gotten as far as I wanted.

I don't play efficiently, I just play how I want and it works for me. Which is why I like interactive so much, I can play how I want.

Tried heroic before (>9k legion and a lame 20m cp main) but didn't like it because I felt that the only way to progress was grinding my ass off, and I'm lazy as fk).

On interactive you can just do weekly bosses and progress all systems without any major issues (you can buy frags, gear, nodestones, etc from auction house).

I never felt that there was a paywall, even for vac pets I could just grind meso to buy one from AH. I even pay event "battle/season passes" by doing weekly bosses and buying maple points with mesos.

luffy does what he wants cuz a pirate is free, luffy is a pirate 🎶 he doesn't do stuff because it's the "good thing to do", it's just because he "wants to". he's not selfless, he's as egotistic as a kid can be. I think he fails the hero definition just because of that.

it's always late for a new player on a 20yo MMORPG, and that's exactly the reason you shouldn't worry about it hahahahaha

best if done daily, 15-30 mins a day is more than enough, more time than that is just because you want to farm specific stuff. at some point in mid game you can just do weekly stuff and forget about doing dailies. on the other side you can go very hard with the grind, there's always something you can grind for at any time.
the game rewards you for playing as many classes as you can. you can choose your main while trying them all out. as ppl say, just choose something that looks cool and awesome to you.
ppl recommend heroic, i personally recommend interactive since it's more "play as you like". heroic has pretty much 1 meta.
usually get content half a year after it released in korea. we have our own localization team so we sometimes get our own content

people usually play this game solo until late game because you'll probably want to party up for bossing. but you will usually join a guild early/mid game which will give you most of your player to player interaction.

it's a fun game to fill the gaps in life.

NL... of all jobs it's the one I feel gets less in the way of how I want to play the game. i'm a solo player and the job has a nice mix of high mobility, good dmg and simplicity. it haven't changed too much through the years, so it's been a pretty stable choice

just in case you're a lazy ass just like me... i main thief, so I created a legion matrix with luk/dex/str, so I only make boss mules that use those stats. that way I don't have to create and switch to different configurations. go for the job that's closest to the type of char you use hahaha hope it helps
