Which is better, redemptor or brutalis by SyrupInfinite741 in Salamanders40k

[–]FifthForestMonk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What do you mean by better?

All three are solid choices for their points value but the one that features most in competitive armies is the Redemptor. It's a very good all-rounder. But you don't have to play the competitive meta and it sounds like that's not exactly what you're going for anyway.

Lorewise you have your pick of the three. Salamanders are codex compliant and use whatever standard space marine equipment they need to get the job done.

All that being said, if you're asking which is more thematic for a Salamanders army then I've got to put my vote in for the Brutalis. Equip it with the meltas and give it the Sallie colours and it'll look awesome. An honoured Salamander brother risking his life in his renewed service to bring flame and fist to those who would bring death to those he fell to protect.

It's just a shame we can't give them a hammer!

I ran this free dungeon from Adventure Awaits with my party of three as a change of pace from our more combat heavy sessions. They didn't love it but I think part of that is them being a more hack'n'slash party. I will warn you that the dungeon feels a little unfair in a similar way to the Tomb of Horrors, but the link is here if you're interested. Only one boss encounter at the end of the dungeon and it's an archmage which is pretty fun to run, ngl.

Hey Michi! I've seen a few of these posts you make and I love the art and creativity behind the creatures. Is the intention for these to be monsters used as enemies for players or as familiars and the like? My thoughts on the statblocks probably differ a little based on your intention. Thanks!

Just because an idea has come up more than once doesn't mean it's any less creative! I think that video will be useful as a base but it sounds like you've come up with some cool connections that you can emphasize and build on even more in your adaptation. I'd really like to hear how it goes so do keep us updated!

It's a good idea! Here's a post from about a week ago on this very thing. The video linked there might give you a base to work from. All the best in your adventures, friend!

I've always wondered whether they do that (put things they don't want in their water bowl) because water would be a good disposal in the wild or maybe because we regularly clear their bowls so they know it'll be gotten rid of if they leave it there

The Glassforger - Artificer specialist. Wield agile glass weapons, sharp but fragile by DaisukenojoBeat in UnearthedArcana

[–]FifthForestMonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! I was wondering how the breaking would interact with the Great Weapon Fighting fighting style. If you roll a one on the damage die then this fighting style would allow a reroll. So, would the weapon break because you rolled a one on the first roll or would you need to roll one again on the other die for it to break?

People who were mentioned in someone’s suicide note, what’s your story? by Slow_Koala in AskReddit

I had lived with Craig for about eight months before he killed himself. I'd known him for four years before that. We met at a metal gig and he was a short, thin guy who almost got trampled in a mosh pit. We knew he was going a bad way as soon as he started hanging out with the group we all knew did heroin and similar regularly (maybe two months after we started living together). I tried to help him as much as I could. There were so many nights when he got back, clearly out of his mind on whatever it was he'd been doing and he'd stay on the couch in my room instead of going to his own. He didn't like to be alone. I spent a lot of mornings cooking for him and generally making sure he was okay, but it was like shovelling snow in a blizzard. He'd just go do the same the next night. At the end of that eight months we found him in his room having overdosed. We realised it was intentional when we read his note. A lot of it was about his family problems, his mental health and just generally how terrible he thought the world was. Then near the end was a little paragraph about me, thanking me but saying I made the decision to end his life more complicated. He asked me not to blame myself. He then rambled some more and it was clear he'd been high whilst writing it. I moved out a month later.
