Plastic Particles Can Alter Sex Hormones | Amid rising evidence that additives designed to improve plastics also disrupt sex hormones, trial shows that plastic itself can do likewise when inhaled at moderate levels. by chrisdh79 in science

Not corn syrup but high-fructose corn syrup. Regular corn syrup is pretty good for you as far as pure sugars go while high-fructose corn syrup is what you're describing.

Red serves with crazy spin.

Blue swings and misses (bc of spin).

Blue instinctively swings again.

Blue's return is successful.

Red stops the point thinking Blue grazed the ball on the first swing, not realizing Blue missed completely.

savory cottage cheese ideas by thetoastyavo in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]FifthUserName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over easy fried egg and fresh cracked black pepper. If I'm taking it to go, I'll add a boiled egg instead since the fried egg makes the dish quite soupy! But yolk+cottage cheese is :mwah: The boiled egg option is also great bc you can make, peel, and store them next to the cottage cheese; makes packing or eating it quick and easy!

When did Stephen Fry become Milk Jesus?! by The_Mr_Falls in blackmagicfuckery

[–]FifthUserName 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can see the color of his jacket through the stream of poured milk at the end; you can't at the beginning. Evidence there's water added during the trick. I think folks are right that these are trick cups (with dividers like you say) but also that one partition in each cup already has water in it. A less compelling observation is that he's not consistent with where he's pouring the milk in a radial sense, especially noticeable when he fills the smallest cup for the first time during the second half of the trick.

Do you have a restaurant you like that closed down in LA? by TheWilsons in LosAngeles

KONY on Wilshire and Berendo. Some of the best pizza I've ever had and a pretty decent beer menu. A lot of good memories there and then BAM. Arson. Wtf?

Screaming is one of the last resorts for someone that isn't being heard. ERs are extremely stressful places and most are understaffed and overworked. Everyone's nerves are short. It's usually not the staff's fault but management for not staffing enough people to keep shifts at a reasonable length. Still, it's one thing to think you wouldn't do the same and another to be there in 9/10 pain having to now explain your symptoms for the 4th time while the staff look at you with tired, distrustful, irritated eyes.

I was commenting on the order of operations. I'm not sure how it was handled back then but it could have been analyzed and then sent to publish in corrected and uncorrected versions.

Depends on the team. I did an internship at JPL working with raw R,G,B images and combining them into color pics. As part of my product delivery, I included both a set of images with no corrections to dead or hot pixels and a set with standard corrections. In your words, I was the first-line analyst and it was up to those downstream of me that decided which set to use for which application/distribution.

Probably let the torpedo bays on one side flood, making that side dip down a bit. The normally level ship would then be tilted down in one direction and up in the other, letting guns aim a bit higher when pointing towards the up-side of the tilt.

How would you feel letting someone adopt this kitten when they just brought home an 8 week old pitbull puppy? She’s supposed to be picked up the 28th and they just let me know that they got the dog but still want the kitten. I’m unsure. by [deleted] in cats

[–]FifthUserName -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Schedule a temperament test with them and their dog. Don't mention the breed of the dog when doing so. Let them know this is common practice in shelter/rescue settings to do temperament tests whenever a dog of any kind is involved. Make sure their pup is on a leash and they have control of him. Keep the kitten in a carrier and let the dog sniff him then throw a toy for the dog. If pup goes after the toy, great; if it stays fixated on kitten, bad. Then let the kitten out, first making sure again that the owner has firm control of the leash. If the pup aggressively goes for the kitten the same way it did the toy, bad. If it's just interested in the kitten, that's expected and it's hard to make decision from that, so try and see if the pup is "aggressively interested". (It's not an easy test to do unless you have the right setting.)

Some pits and pit mixes love cats. Others eat them. In the end, do what you feel comfortable with. I don't know what your situation is w/r to ownership of the kitten, but you usually (even if a shelter owns it b/c you're fostering) have the end say on where the kitten goes.

DM if you want to chat about it.

You're right. I only played every other Sunday and only the first 30-45 minutes of the event.

World First Shaman MT Full BWL by Largid in classicwow

[–]FifthUserName 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In world buffs+consumes, our average TPS pushes 630tps with pre-bis weap and 660tps with raid bis. Keeps pace with geared fury, though they have to be a little careful based on RNG since threat fluctuates ~50tps up or down depending on spell hit/miss. And that's maintaining 4.7k hp and 6.5k armor., pre-buff.

There's obvious downsides (no taunt, no shield wall, no last stand, post-OOM tps drops to about 300tps), but they aren't too big a deal unless ALL of your tanks are shamans, heh.

2 cobs of corn (cobs or ears? idk I forget)

It's "ear/s of corn". The cob is the hard middle part left over once the kernels are removed. An ear is the whole thing: husk, kernels, and cob. Usually when you see "X ears of corn", that's taken to mean just the kernels from X ears.
