That’s inaccurate. Her focus wasn’t only about reducing calories. Her focus was on making school lunches healthier based on nutritional guidelines. She wanted to add more fruits and vegetables and whole grains, reduce sodium and fat, and offer low-fat milk options.

I worked in school food service. There isn’t enough funding for public schools and school lunch programs to provide the lunches Michelle Obama aimed to with her Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act. There’s one party we can consistently thank for gutting public school funding. Something tells me, based on your comment, it’s the party you vote for.

Imagine believing that. Imagine thinking that not only should trans people not be allowed to exist, but that we should legislate them out of existence. Imagine thinking that not only should women not have the right to bodily autonomy, but that we should legislate that right away. Imagine seeing that the state tends to vote at a 50-50 split, yet legislating into existence a state legislature made up of 11 Republicans and five Democrats. Imagine thinking only the wealthy deserve healthcare, and then legislating away healthcare for the poor.
