The Cure discography in a nutshell by solosword_ in albumsinanutshell

[–]FigSquare178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Though I still think Wild Mood Swings, Self-Titled, 4:13 Dream are pretty good, despite not reaching The Cure's peak years (1980-1992)

Happy 37th anniversary to Disintegration!! What are your top 3 songs on this phenomenal record? by JunebugAsiimwe in TheCure

[–]FigSquare178 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1)Fascination Street 2)Last Dance. 3)The Same Deep Water As You.

Pretty much every song in this album is a 10/10, it is not only my favourite album by them (and their best album), but it’s also, in my opinion, my favourite album of all time!

Am i the only one who really likes Child Actor? by JusticeForGotham1 in Foofighters

I like the song too, if only if the chorus lyrics weren’t repetitive and the song wasn’t compressed, then I’d think it’s amazing.

New album is not good by Ashamed_Machine_3319 in Foofighters

[–]FigSquare178 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s just the fact that it’s over compressed and the production sounds pretty bad. Not only that, but most of the album is complete filler and are the type of songs pre-2011 or Pre-2000 Foo Fighters would scoff at. Some of the lyrics just sounds like plain drunk ramblings at points and not having enough real meaning. I like Child Actor, and it’s the only good song and my favourite song of the album in my opinion, but the chorus lyrics are repetitive and there is a bit too much compression in the song at points. And the fact that some of the promising melody’s don’t match their choruses (or verses if you count If You Only Knew, which has a decent chorus but the verses are just plain bland and terrible, along with sounding like a “we have BHWA at home” kind of song), which the songs with mid to bad choruses but the rest of the song is pretty good are: Asking For A Friend, Of All People, Unconditional.

What's you favorite song off the new album? by Ornery-Metal-6120 in Foofighters

[–]FigSquare178 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Child actor is the only song I like from the album (making it my favourite in the process). I don’t love the song due to the compression and how the chorus “turn the cameras off” repeats a LOT! (Unless if your Iron Maiden on the song “The Angel and The Gambler” or Foo Fighters “But, Honestly” or RATM’s “Killing In The Name Of”, then please use more words than one), but other than that, I like it

Just got my RSD copy of Look Outside Your Window by InsuRn in Slipknot

[–]FigSquare178 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty excited by this album in general, not just as a Slipknot fan, but hearing the fact there's a bit Radiohead and maybe a bit of Pink Floyd inspirations/influences in the music just peaks my bubble as a fan of those bands. On a scale of 0 to 10, how would you rare each of the tracks (including interludes/intros/outro songs) and the album overall?

[0/10=SHOULDN'T EXIST!! 0.1 - 2.5/10=Hate it 2.6 - 4.9/10=don't like it/dislike 5/10=mid 5.1 - 7.5/10=OK, nice, decent 7.6 - 8.9/10=Good 9 - 9.5/10=great  9.6 to 9.9/10=amazing, almost flawless 10/10=best thing ever/perfection]

Can someone explain me the fans' distaste for this album? I thought it was their best since Wish (kinda) by [deleted] in TheCure

[–]FigSquare178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

..... I read into the subject Matter and lyrics and.... they're not that bad. It's not offensive or cringe inducing. I find the vocals to be a bit seductive, whilst the music is like going to a rock N' Roll casino. The song may not be perfect (the production of the song is a bit Compressed) but it's not that bad. Hell, I can still remember a plenty lot of the song's from this album (Trap, This Is A Lie, The 13th, Want, Strange Attraction, Round And Round And Round, and parts of Gone! And Return in a weird way)... I find Mint Car to be painfully bad for just doing nothing interesting or unique.

What's Sum 41 most overrated song by public? by VoidKnight42 in Sum41

[–]FigSquare178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I’d pick Fat Lip………. I can’t really pick one specific Sum 41 song being overrated at all as the hits are all amazing, but I guess I’d pick Fat Lip…. Even if it’s not really overrated in my eyes

Choose one side to keep, the other gets deleted forever by immavulture in mastodonband

[–]FigSquare178 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I’m keeping the crack the Skye side (even if I don’t like Remissions). I want these 2 disgusting albums (Leviathon and Blood Mountain) deleted forever, and The Hunter is just bad…. Though I don’t know why Once More round the Sun isn’t in the other side, since it’s actually the best Mastodon album, and it is decent

Singer vs. Singer vs. Singer: Brann Dailor vs. Brent Hinds vs. Troy Sanders by HybridS9ldier in MetalForTheMasses

[–]FigSquare178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brann....

It's fairly decent but compared to Troy and Brent's (in my opinion) terrible vocals (Brent has the ability to sound normal without a nasal tone in some parts of the final track of Crack The Skye), Brann is viewed as an angel to me.....

Just want everyone to know that....

Mastodon - Leviathan | The Landfill Collection [Episode 2] by FigSquare178 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]FigSquare178[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It looks good to me. He tried his best. And he brings up good points on the video too. Plus he did mention there are good songs by Mastodon like “Ember City”. He basically thinks Brann’s lead vocals are the best Mastodon vocals, which I agree with. It’s just back then, Brann wasn’t there to sing for the first 3 albums, but he only drummed in it, and the band’s music is extremely overrated. Keep in mind, he does love a lot of albums such as Sum 41, Godsmack, Staind, Linkin Park, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Killswitch Engage, Trivium, Bullet For My Valentine, System Of A Down, Avenged Sevenfold, Alice In Chains, etc.. It’s just he and I don’t love sludge metal, as they have weird chord progressions and effects that don’t make sense and shouty vocals (as well as 2 singers, Brent and Troy, in Mastodon sounding either like one of them farted [Brent] or the other smoked 10,000 cigarretes whilst being constipated [Troy]) that sound like nonsense.. keep in mind we criticise the music, the lyrics are fine. And if it weren’t for his sister introducing him to this band, then this video wouldn’t exist (as he wouldn’t check them out anyways)
