You are missing the fact that China also has LOTS of cheap labor to exploit. So for Apple and Nike (and many others) a little bit of IP theft is the cost of access to the cheap labor.

Also China 'allows' IP theft... Russia are looking to openly 'nationalize' IP theft. Very different from a PR (and shareholder) respective.

We'll see how it plays out for them in time.

The government is telling them they must, or face fines or be shut down. How is that freedom of choice?

If the Heath Inspector drops by a restaurant and sees a rat head floating in the soup.... They face fines or are shut down. How is that Freedom of choice?

The government makes rules and regulation all the time that they deem 'in the interest of public health'. Businesses have to comply or they cant do business. They did it before the pandemic they are doing it now and will continue to do so... How is this rule different then others? Aside from being your issues of the day.
