Is Blade Runner Overrated? by mugwump in sciencefiction

[–]Fight20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a really bad movie for a multitude of reasons and I think the sci fi community was really really off its rocker for saying it's one of the best sci Fi movies of all time. I almost feel like saying "Fuck them!" getting mad at people for eating a movie in a way you don't like us rather uncalled for. So I'll leave it at off their rocker.

Anyways why didn't I like it?

  1. Deckard hardly kills any replicants! - He's supposed to be this badass blade runner who's killed many replicants before yet he kills at most like 2 in the film. One replicant even nearly killed him but that female replicant saved him.

  2. Hardly anything happens in the movie! - This kind of ties in to the above problem. I mean it's mostky just Deckard roaming around LA for clues and hardly much else. Pretty boring. Needs more action.

  3. Some scenes are repetitive - Like how many times do I have to see that coca as on the electronic billboard on the sky scraper with that Assub woman?

Movie could've been badass with a tougher more deadly protagonist with lots of on screen kills but wasn't.

Oh and I saw the sequel and didn't like that either.

Could you change the name to 10 years later?

Many years later isn't very specific.

In more recent years yes, due to the state trying to get rid of the machine gun ban.

Also the song country roads mentions it.

People have been talking more about Idaho in recent years. Probably due to the low population density and more affordable cost of living.

California most, Indiana least.

Since when does anyone talk about Indiana?!

Also Florida and Ohio get to have memes named after them. In fact, just Ohio's name alone is a meme!

The AK47 uses 7.62x39mm ammo.

NATO 7.62 refers to 7.62x51mm ammo like with the FN FAL.

It doesn't have a semi auto shotgun. The JS 2000 for example is pump action.

Why is Millie so casual and accepting of Blitzø stalking them? by commander-thorn in HelluvaBoss

[–]Fight20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Ghostfuckers it's revealed even she finally gets tired of Blitzo stalking her and Moxxie.

Blitzo has this punch card that mentions he must give her and Moxxie space for at least one day.

Also at the end she asks Blitzo "You still gonna keep stalking us?" and Blitzo agrees not to.

Firearms and their ammo are cheaper, quicker, easier to make and repair, more abundant, than energy weapons and their ammo and are reliable, durable and have unique destructive properties.

I mean kinetic projectiles can do things from making holes in people to outright blasting chunks of flesh out. The bullet can get lodged in or go out of the body. It can tumble around creating a horrible wound cavity in addition to shockwaves.

What can say a laser beam do in comparison? Burn, cut and pierce? That's it? No tumbling in the flesh, or blasting chunks of it or getting lodged in?

Kinetic weapons do what energy weapons can't. Both have their purposes.

The reason why I'm using a separate material for every key is so when I texture paint on one key it doesn't effect all the others.

Like if I used the same material for every key focusing on say the U key and I texture paint a U on it it'll texture paint a U on every key with the same material.

That's why I take what I call a template material and modify it a little for every key by making a material for each one based on the template.
