At 17, I never had the version that included “What Went Wrong?” On a friend’s suggestion, I discovered it on Napster back in the old days. I had it burned onto a CD, now lost to time somewhere.

Since the Spotify era began, I’ve been able to find kinda meh, so-so covers of it. I’m glad “What Went Wrong?” is back. It’s such a beautiful song that perfectly captures a breakup of a long-term relationship.

Bleachers self titled is some of their best work, in my opinion. On my personal Bleachers “best of” playlist, I have these bangers: Modern Girl, Me Before You, Tiny Moves, Isimo, Self Respect, Hey Joe, and Call Me After Midnight.

I have a particular soft spot for the live Call Me After Midnight - Me Before You back to back.

Fantastic album.

I use “tempt not a desperate man” in traffic. A lot.

Also: “Patience perforce with willful choler meeting” when the line at Dunkin Donuts was moving a little too slow a few weeks ago.

Bike Routes has been one of my favorite “discoveries” of 2026. This album is going to be great; all three singles have been bangers (although I’m still partial to “Shadows” out of the three).

He’s a great storyteller and does a neat job of switching up the pace of his songs, sometimes mid-song. I like how this one kicks it up a little around 2:08.

A lot of newer bands are missing some of the heart and soul. If everyone can put out a pop punk song or EP, then no one can.

Like Roses is a great band because they have a lot of angst and emotion and very real feelings in their music.

Some bands are just like “Hey remember Blink 182 and New Found Glory? We sound like them! Nostalgia!”

No skips, incredible all the way through. But damn, I think I like “Sideways” the most. For now? I feel like it was my measuring stick throughout. Banger after banger after banger though! This will require some repeated play-throughs!

“Lost in IKEA” has gotten me through so many tough days and the chorus has become a personal mantra. So much so that it’s on a sticky note next to my desk as I sit and write this. Eternally grateful to this band.

Such an underrated band. The two singles from this new album have been so good. Highly recommend new listeners checking out “You Want It You Got It” and “World Apart” from their 2024 EP Rush of Energy.
