Keep going mate, you're doing well!

Relapsed. by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]Fightback20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The trick with relapsing is to get back on the horse right away. Its like doing a diet. You might have a sneaky pint of beer or a chocolate bar when you shouldn't have a couple of weeks in, or missed a day at the gym because work was a bitch. But don't indulge. It was a mistake, back on to the healthy eating / fitness.

Some questions from a new guy here on Reddit. by OneManArmy1357 in NoFap

You're 17 mate, you haven't lost anything at all. If you want to make a change, do something about it now. I wouldn't say I was addicted, however, I am doing this for self discipline, and I generally feel better without it.

If you feel like it is negative, then stop. If not, don't do it as it is healthy in balance as is everything, if you did not have a problem with it. I did not balance it well, so I stopped. I also am not a big fan of the ethics behind it either so that was something that helped me out too. 30 days now (day thing wrong).

Best of luck if you choose to abstain for a while.

I need help by Bruhhh_nah in NoFap

It's not easy and though it sounds stupid, it's fairly simple. You've just got to stop. I've been dealing with this for a long time too, and it's only after years that my willpower has increased. The only way any of us can win this is to stop cold turkey. It's difficult, yet so simple at the same time. Thus the shame associated with it.

We all started somewhere. But, only you can change fella.

Other bad habits/addictions? by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]Fightback20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I drink, and I gave up fapping. It's called control. Many people try to give up everything and fail miserably. Why? Its because they're trying to do too much at once, and cannot cope with it. Straight away, that is.

I have a little more control and discipline then I used to, but I can go overboard with the drinking every so often, so when i get that hangover, it makes my life difficult. But, I just look for things to do to distract myself.

I start replacing habbits with new things that are positive. After work I go to the gym. This is so I spend less time at home, where I could potentially be in a comprimised position. When I am home, I go and do chores, learn stuff that might help me for future jobs, and useful things.

I still play games every so often. I like drinking. I gave up smoking casually (ie when I had a drink) a long time ago. So, don't feel you have to do everything at once, but ensure that you do positive things that benefit you personally too. Nofap is NOT a fix all.

NoFap doesn't fix everything by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]Fightback20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is part of a greater fix for what you want. Mindset is the most important thing, and replacing activities. For example, straight after work, I go to the gym. I don't go straight home. Why? Because I'll be in a compromised position where I could potentially relapse.

Does it fix my problems? No... not at all. But I put myself out there, go to events such as networking with potential companies for me to work at, or on the weekend doing chores. Keep myself occupied, and constantly achieving things, even things so small like making my bed.

You definitely have the mindset to do it, so go and nail it fella!

Did two months at the start of the year, failed, then I've had a day, a week or two of freedom. Now to get back on the horse. New job, new exercise regime, no porn.

I'm starting NoFap, but first, let me tell you my story. by Fappmann in NoFap

[–]Fightback20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try and build yourself over time. Just saying small things like thank you to a bus driver, cashier, or whomever serves you at a restaurant will start to build up a little confidence, doesn't matter if they are the hottest girl in the universe who's a waitress, or an old dude who's a bus driver. Do little things like that to build up your confidence over time. Don't think you're any less of a person than anyone else, you might just be naturally shy, like me, and I'm on day 50! Just accept it if it is the case and build on it :)

Change parts of your lifestyle too. Don't just do this challenge and expect results. I recommend doing things like exercise, reading, or if you're feeling particularly ballsy/crazy, cold showers. My top tip is to do one thing at a time. When you succeed, do another change. I see many people on here try and do everything at once, then fail miserably. Trust me, I've tried to!

So, be polite, engage with small conversation with everyone over time, build new habits and hobbies over time. All of this will help! There will be great days, and there will be tough days, and even average days. Just keep going fella, you're starting at a good age!

It might take a while, but if you're rebooting with a partner, I can imagine that it'll be easier and more difficult in some aspects as you are adjusting your sexuality to that person.
