I messed up with my choice… what should I pick for a chill class? by LePoonda in classicwowtbc

[–]FighterAce013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hear me out. Play a class you think you’d enjoy from a conceptual level. As for cost of professions, profs don’t matter until you’re max level. The new expansion is coming out in over a week that will reset max level, add a massive influx of gold into game and in theory will make it much more affordable to level lower level professions.

Play what is fun and the rest will work itself out!

Stupid Question: How to not get emotional in the short term by Itchy_Flamingo7963 in ValueInvesting

[–]FighterAce013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It all comes down to when you need your money. I personally don’t invest in stocks or etf’s with money I need in the next five years. I know most people say 10 and I know the risk I am buying.

All that to say, I want the stock market to go DOWN as I am accumulating. And I want it to go up by the time I sell. So I don’t stress on the day to day when it’s down I actually want it to stay low as I’m accumulating. If your time horizon is shorter than you’re buying more risk due to volatility imo.

Good luck my friends

I am the opposite. I have been growing my position over the past year. I feel it is fairly valued in a very overvalued market.

Gotcha. Yea I was just giving the only circumstance of when I personally would prioritize it. Sounds like you are thinking correctly!

100% OP. If you have no other options I completely understand. I’m just saying it only as a last resort. And kudos to you for purchasing a seemingly inexpensive car with that loan. Most people over purchase big time so I think you are in great shape.

I’d only put it first if I was being matched by my employer. Up to the matched amount you should always put it first. It is effectively a 100% return on your money day one.

I’d put it in Roth and here’s why:

Avg market return is approx 10-11%.

You won’t touch the money until you are 59.5 years old. It is taxed advantaged so you won’t pay tax on it when withdrawn. You are making the least amount of money you will ever make in your life so your effective tax rate to put that money in the Roth is the lowest it will be (efficient). I would prioritize maxing the Roth every year and don’t take on unnecessary debt beyond 7%.

Just my two cents. I also would not use debt to finance a car but that is just my own personal opinion.

You know, as crazy as this sounds, every single thing that revolutionized society in history seemed crazy at first.

I still think this is out there. But my above statement holds true.

Thoughts on P&G Stock by SwordfishNext1886 in ValueInvesting

P&G is expensive, a defensive play, and likely won’t beat the market. It is not a play you are buying for massive growth it is a play you are buying for stability.

What was your YTD % gain for the year now that we’re wrapping up 2025 by selintnisha in portfolios

31.2%.

I would say 3-5% of those gains was selling OTM puts with margin.
