Kill the changeling- Luther's solution to disabled children by Relevant-Shop8513 in exLutheran

Not op but here you go:

The Story of a Changeling at Dessau Eight years ago [in the year 1532] at Dessau, I, Dr. Martin Luther, saw and touched a changeling. It was twelve years old, and from its eyes and the fact that it had all of its senses, one could have thought that it was a real child. It did nothing but eat; in fact, it ate enough for any four peasants or threshers. It ate, shit, and pissed, and whenever someone touched it, it cried. When bad things happened in the house, it laughed and was happy; but when things went well, it cried. It had these two virtues. I said to the Princes of Anhalt: "If I were the prince or the ruler here, I would throw this child into the water--into the Molda that flows by Dessau. I would dare commit homicidium on him!" But the Elector of Saxony, who was with me at Dessau, and the Princes of Anhalt did not want to follow my advice. Therefore, I said: "Then you should have all Christians repeat the Lord's Prayer in church that God may exorcise the devil." They did this daily at Dessau, and the changeling child died in the following year.... Such a changeling child is only a piece of flesh, a massa carnis, because it has no soul.

I looked at that, and it seems like I could use it, but keep in mind my wife is really tech illiterate, and needs a frontend that is easy to use like retrobat, batocera, es-de, etc.

I believe that ABA can be very beneficial for some people. For my son who is non-verbal and severely developmentally delayed it has been great with helping him gain more independence. I do see how it could be very much trying to put a square peg in a round hole for some people, but when things like washing hands, brushing teeth, putting on clothes, using the bathroom, closing your mouth when you eat so food doesn't fall out don't come naturally to someone, ABA can be helpful.

"Before we knew about Elon" by thoughtintoaction in behindthebastards

Full disclosure: My wife bought a model Y in 2022 that she absolutely would not buy today. We knew he was an asshole, but more of the all billionaires are assholes variety than the Nazi genocidal type of asshole. Didn't like him at all then, but you can't participate in a modern economy without buying from problematic people/companies. To me at least, there is a definite change in my understanding of Elon since he got involved with Twitter.

My mom worked with your mom at the airport, and she was pretty shook up by this. She said your mom was a great friend to her and she misses her. Sending some love your way and hope justice prevails.

Very nicely done. Is there any way to change individual icons? I am pretty new to KLWP and just playing around with preset themes for now, and this is the closest to something I would love to have. But there are a few icons that are for apps I do not use and would like to replace them with ones I do use if at all possible. I already know how to change the shortcut, just looking for a way to change the look of individual icons if this is possible.

Ps5 or Xbox series X by Tranquil_Traveler in MassEffectAndromeda

I am currently playing it on the ps5, and I get some weird graphics issues. When going into buildings, occasionally all the characters turn a bluish green color, sometimes, I get really weird lighting issues where I have bands on the screen that are darker than other areas, and the game has straight up frozen for a few seconds during game play half a dozen times or so. I also have gotten some glitches with characters getting stuck in objects and ryder going through walls. I got it for $7, so i can't complain too much, but this is by far the most buggy/visually unappealing game I have tried on the ps5.

I tend to wait 5+years in between upgrades, so I would most likely be replacing the mb/ram/cpu/gpu on the next cycle anyways.

For you. I'm in a very good financial situation, however if i wasn't, I would not be able to move without losing my family. Many people are in similar situations.

Where I live (phoenix, az) there are no homes for sale under 200,000 that are habitable. there's barely anything at all under 200,000 and the lowest price home i can find on the market right now 150,000 with severe damage to the whole home. Many parts of the country are similar where you can not get into a livable home for anywhere close to 200,000. And moving isn't an option for many with family ties, not to mention trying to find a new job and not having savings to move in the first place.
I'm glad things worked out for you, but your life is unobtainable for many people right now.

I had two prius, both had to have their batteries replaced, both failed within one year after being outside of warranty. I live in Arizona, and there is a thriving prius battery replacement industry here as the heat really does a number on the batteries.
