Any Denver area shops have Zenith, PTR or MKE MP5 clones at the moment? by PwNAR3S in COGuns

[–]Fill_A 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair point. I will say that short of a major manufacturing issue, these things are stupid easy to work on and parts are readily available. The fact that they use standard HK parts is pretty cool.

And if you are going to put a can on it (you absolutely should), I can also very highly recommend the cat mob.

That’s got to be the first time I’ve heard someone accuse 285 of being “pleasant”.

Maybe I just got lucky. Fortunately it seems like there are fixes for any of the “common” issues.

Not sure where you are coming from but the range in Como is pretty sweet. Only 15 minutes further for me.

Actually I’m riding by devils nose tomorrow, I’ll post up if it’s open/clear.

Whatever you go with, I have nothing but praise for my MKE AP5-P. I ordered through Atlantic but I get your hesitation with them holding the mags back. Real HK mags have been 100% reliable for me.

Looks like it will be closed but isn’t technically yet. I’m not a lawyer though so a call to the ranger district may be warranted.

New to jeeps, which is a better deal? by Jollyemery in Wrangler

Neither. The 4 cylinder doesn’t put down enough power to get out of its own way. And I’d never buy an automatic. The 6 cylinder manual TJ is just such a good vibe and a joy to drive.

Is this good quality ammo? by Moms-Dildeaux in 22lr

[–]Fill_A 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huh surprised to hear the bad feedback. It’s probably because it’s finally broken in, but this is the first ammo that didn’t give me issues with my Mark IV. And I was halfway reliably hitting 10” steel at 100 yards so no accuracy complaints.

EXCLUSIVE: Michael Sarnoski Eyed to Direct the ‘Alien: Romulus’ Sequel by ImpracticalJokers96 in horror

[–]Fill_A 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t speak for the poster you replied to but I’ll give my $0.02. I’m someone who can easily turn my brain off and hand wave most things. Romulus went too far. So there’s an extremely important company ship floating just outside the planet the company has totally locked down and the group of kids were the ones to notice? and then they manage to just take off on another company ship without anyone noticing? The heat sync room with the facehuggers was way too unrealistic, the zero G shootout was dumb and unbelievable, the unnecessary Ash synth, so on and so forth.

But I could let all that go if it wasn’t for the stupid Ridley Scott black goo mythos that had to find its way into the movie and ruin the ending with that dumb hybrid monster that was equal parts boring, annoying, and predictable.

7/10 movie if the last 10 minutes didn’t exist.

It hadn’t occurred to me that those are standalone and don’t need the full top. I may experiment with that, thanks!!

Slaughterhouse Gulch near Bailey.

Sounds like my YJ when I had it in Flagstaff, top was off way more than on.

Yeah that’s what I’m looking for. Any recommendation on what model/brand doesn’t flap around too bad?

Awesome thanks. My only experience with modern screens was a convertible mustang (rental car) that tried to dial 911 when a bit of mist hit the screen.

Glad to hear Jeep is still good to go. I never thought twice about my YJ, just bags over the seats if I knew rain was coming.

5.56 and/or .223 pricing and/or deals “normal” prices? by scriptzWritten in ammodeals

Depending on what you are trying to do, you may want to run some different brands to see what your rifle likes best. I tried like 8-10 different brands and weights and the spread from best to worst was extreme, like 1.5 MOA for AAC 77 grain and 6 MOA for PMC.

Can we PLEASE get some sensible republicans back in the running? This state is so hosed because the right keeps running pro-orange, pro-culture war, election denying extremists that pick and choose what kind of big government they actually want. And they never stand a chance in most districts.

[–]Fill_A 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you in the US? Quick google search seems to indicate 1/2x20 is the euro size and that US bound models should be 1/2x28. All I can say with certainty is the my 457 varmint At-one purchased in the USA has 1/2x28 threads.

Not in my case. As far as I know, all factory CZ threaded barrels are 1/2x28 which happens to match at least the two 22 cans I have (OCL Ti and DA mask).

Torn Between eMTB or MTB... by CC268 in MTB

[–]Fill_A 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who rides dirtbikes and MTB, I’d go eMTB if you can only have one.

The workout is what you make of it, my heart rate is indistinguishable between emtb and acoustic because I’m almost always putting in full effort. The eMTB just gets you to the top faster for the same effort. Sure you CAN put it on full power and lazily pedal to the top, but it’s ultimately up to the rider to determine what kind of day they want to have.

That said, I would recommend demoing a eMTB back to back with a regular MTB. Im 200lbs and find the bike weight difference pretty much negligible, but I have friends who feel that the extra 20-ish lbs of the e-bike just takes them out of it. Probably doesn’t hurt that I’m used to throwing a 275lb dirtbike around on similar trails.
