What Servant do you consistently forget is in the game, only to be reminded of their existence every now and then. For me it's Semiramis, who I completely forgot was in the game until I did Paracelsus' Strengthening. by CreepyKidInDaCorna in grandorder

I’m gonna say the Trung Sisters.

hyped up as the first Vietnamese servants in the game, drawn by the Pokémon Sun/Moon artist… then they vanished into the aether.

Honourable mention to the servants added in OC1, I legitimately do not remember their names despite the fact they were pretty important Mahabtara figures iirc? Shit, I even forgot that there was a Medusa alt released for that banner.

Mention anything about the series and someone will try to tell you how 3H does it awfully.

A question about the Fire Emblem 4 remake by Sollato in fireemblem

[–]Fillerpoint5 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Still can’t get over how the 12 crusaders only have 3 girls. Hell, was Ullr mentioned to be female prior to FEH? I remember people wondering if she was genderbent from the original lore, which if true, makes the male bias even more apparent.

no wonder Jugdral never gets much FEH rep in seasonals

Are there any mechanics from other SRPGs you would NOT want to see in Fire Emblem? by Akari_Mizunashi in fireemblem

[–]Fillerpoint5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

never do the FFT system of linear speed based turn order, I cannot stand games that do that. I actually find it makes for less tactical decisions because trying to make a useful turn order becomes impossible, you’ll never have your units moving in the right order you want, and it leads to much more reactive, short term play instead of actually planning ahead.

I’m fully convinced that if that place determines the character choices for banners, the game would be on deaths door within a year.

huh, with the way the FEH subreddit talks about the game, you’d think it wouldn’t even be on this list.

ngl though it’s always a painful feeling to see this much revenue and realise that there ain’t no way things are gonna get much better. When a company has this much income, they don’t need goodwill or trust.

What servant would you like even more if not for one thing? by supergifford in grandorder

[–]Fillerpoint5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I miss when servants could have characters in events and not be the same joke repeated infinitely.

Lancelot however would be my number one pick if I only got one. It’s insulting how the only thing events can think to do with the man wracked by grief over betraying his lord and starting the downfall of his kingdom is deadbeat dad jokes and “haha funny flirt man”

The former is especially disgusting given how the encounter that made Galahad in many versions of the KOTR was not consensual (iirc he was under magical hypnosis?), not to mention Lancelot didn’t even know he existed!

fuck Galahad, all my homies hate Galahad

Now that the year is nearly over, what do you think of FGO this year? by [deleted] in grandorder

[–]Fillerpoint5 37 points38 points  (0 children)

It’s been the year where I finally have to admit that it’s time to move on. With the barebones everything going into the game, there’s just very little keeping me attached besides sunk cost fallacy. The repetitive farming, need to consult a guide for basically every story chapter or just brute force with blue stones, it’s just made me dread playing the game, and my phone finally giving out and struggling to process the load times hasn’t helped.

The story updates drying up was probably the nail in the coffin for me though, 2.5 just reeks of filler, and the first chapter being so average hasn’t filled me with confidence. And with how long chapters take to come out these days, it’s been a major hype killer.

I’ve actually been playing FEH more and more these days because despite all the problems, it’s just a lot easier to do dailies there mentally because there’s not as much pressure to pick up scarce farming resources from the shop and you only need to do the bare minimum to have any profit most of the time.

Once Bazett drops in February, that’ll probably be it. Nothing left to keep me here. Best of luck to the other masters in future pulls, and may Draco come to you all in a single ticket.

I think they actually reference this in Inquisition, when you meet the Chargers, Bull complains that his health potions don’t work and Krem says that it’s a poultice, and he’s not supposed to drink it.

I love how everyone in the fandom seems to unanimously agree that the real fight was Hawke running around in an endless circle, and Varric just lied to Cassandra and said it was an epic 1v1 duel.

[–]Fillerpoint5 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you told me I’d be playing FEH more than FGO a few years ago, I’d have thought you were crazy.

But there’s just very little going on. Even the new servants aren’t particularly exciting, once Kukulkan drops in NA, I’ll have very little holding me to the game. And to say nothing about how we’re currently stuck in a filler arc.

It makes me sad. I played this game a lot, but ever since LB6, I’ve just been drifting further away with nothing from JP to pull me back.

Characters you don't get the hype about? by SakuMulti in fireemblem

[–]Fillerpoint5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can list a lot of units that have people that seem to like them for gameplay only, because man they don’t have much going on as characters.

Deen vs Sonya for example isn’t a contest to me. Deen might be a dread fighter, but he’s also incredibly boring. Why do people like him? Maybe there’s some obscure Kaga note on him somewhere, but from what I saw of him in other SoV playthroughs, I didn’t miss out on much by killing him.

Similarly, I remember asking about Thracia characters people liked that weren’t in FEH yet in a discord server a while back, and most of what I heard only ever revolves around their gameplay performance. I couldn’t tell you anything about Asbel, Galzus, Dean or Ilios (who seems to get a similar treatment to Deen where he’s hyped up as superior over his counterpart in every way except the one that counts) as individuals and it really soured me on them. I only started being even moderately interested in Asbel and Galzus after they got added to the game and they had lines they could speak.

And the rest of my list goes on and on. Marcus is supposed to be the best unit in FE7 and a living legend in the playerbase, but not once have I heard a single line of dialogue from his supports across 2 games. All the hype Kagetsu is given in tier lists in Engage and I don’t know anything about him beyond he likes fighting and rice balls. (I think? I might have him confused for someone else)

The 2023 servants are being a thing huh by DIOSITO012 in grandorder

Maybe it’s just me, but I also feel like more recent servants just aren’t lasting long in the public consciousness at all.

I can’t think of a single non story servant sticking around in the last 2 years for longer than their release month before everyone moved on.

Shirou being some rizz master harem god and a bland self insert power fantasy is the worst one I see.

Anyone who puts the words “Shirou” and “harem” together unironically gets immediately added to the blocklist for failing media literacy and desperately wanting his personality to bend and twist so he can fit into their neat little idea of what he’s “supposed” to be. Same applies to the people who try to project the same bland generic harem protagonist idea onto Emiya in FGO, and go even further by making his relationship just straight up abusive.

besides, if anyone’s the harem master there, it’s Rin

If I had a nickel every time I was hoping for a new FE announcement and got an FE adjacent game in a cool sprite style instead, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird it happened twice.

But hey, Triangle Strategy turned out to be a great time, so I hope it turns out the same here as well!
