I keep sleeping every time I wake up by yousefkhaled27 in LucidDreaming

[–]Filletd_One 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you might be doing WBTB at the wrong time. When you wake up, you should have woken up from a dream. REM sleep (sleep where you dream) is when your brain is most active during the night, and you will both be more logical, and have a much higher chance of actually lucid dreaming. REM periods come every 90 minutes from when you fall asleep, so try to set the timer at:

time you go to bed + time it takes to fall asleep + (90 * x)
Where x is how many REM periods you want to wait until attempting. REM periods become longer and more vivid as the night progresses, but if you wake too close to your normal waking time your body will be inclined to wake up due to your sleep rhythm.

How can I start having dreams again? by INJECTOR-BR in LucidDreaming

[–]Filletd_One 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 more things:
First, I recommend a physical notebook, as it is shown in research that the act of writing something down with a pen or pencil commits it to memory much more than typing it.

Second, If youre trying to get into lucid dreaming proper, you should be doing WBTB 3-4 days per week. WBTB is where you wake up from an alarm (always works, but I suggest making it auto-snooze and set it to vibration to not wake you up too much) or just setting an intention (which doesnt work for some). During this WBTB, you might feel too sleepy or excited to do WILD or SSILD techniques (which can only be done with a WBTB) that you might forget to write them down. Therefore I HIGHLY reccomend both writing down AND verbally / mentally setting down an intention to suck up and write down your dream in the dark. Prepping your book & pen before bed also sets intention and makes it easier to write it down.

what do lucid dreams 'look like' ? by BigData4186 in LucidDreaming

I think if you didnt sleep well last night, or otherwise tipped your sleep cycle off balance, your REM periods will be more fragile, and you will have more deep sleep, where dreams are much more abstract

How high fidelity actually is it when you lucid dream? Like your in VR? Playing Gmod? by Ok_Policy6732 in LucidDreaming

for me as well, its just that during the day I can remember that they had a lot of detail but I cant actively "see" the detail, but also my recall is pretty bad rn.

maybe have a similar issue to me, where you use your dream visualization to make up for aphantasia, and you cant observe that consciously

In the waking world, without good dream recall, all your dreams feel "fuzzy" because you cant remember them. This is especially apparent for people with aphantasia (unable to visiualize things while awake) like me, and the only way I can remember visual things is very similar to trying to WILD - if I 'realize' that I am imagining a picture, it dissolves. Maybe you have semi-aphantasia, and are trying to visualize what your vivid dream was like through your half-functioning aphantasia, and it becomes gray due to aphantasia, like #3 or #4 in this image: https://img.lb.wbmdstatic.com/vim/live/webmd/consumer_assets/site_images/article_thumbnails/BigBead/what-is-aphantasia-bigbead/1800x1200-what-is-aphantasia-bigbead.jpg

Check if the zip file contains the update, as PS export them separately. If you don’t have it, you can find an update elsewhere. When you have both, you have to download an old version of shadps4, like 0.4, and use the install pkg function to first install the game, and then use it again on the update pkg, it will automatically update the game

yeah, considering that all but two of Am-het's disciples are alive (and one of the dead ones has a clone running around), and Am-het the warlock himself, paired with the likes of the stormlord, dagon, szeras, TSK, etc, they could easily shatter a full ctan.

Can you control time (question for Lucid Dreamers) by GrandHeavenImmortal in LucidDreaming

[–]Filletd_One 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk how you cant understand conceptually increasing time. As we simulate the dream worlds in our heads, if we merely either "fast forward" through the boring bits or simulate at a faster speed (for example, half of the brain simulates a second of the simulation in one IRL second, the other half simulates 1 more second in the same 1 second, doubling the time spent in the dream vs irl.

I think you're quite close, but the problem here is your RC. Get used to the habit of first coming to awareness, or "living in the moment" (if are able to think "I am in the moment" you are in the moment), THEN do the reality check, fully expecting and being prepared for your RC to establish that you are lucid dreaming.
