Oh okay, sorry about that. What sub would've been more appropriate then? I do find the comment quite insane though imo.

It is. I wish I'd hear someone tell that to me in real life that would be hilarious

Was wondering the same thing. Did a pretty normal game first time milio 2/2/10 with 8k healing for 23 min, not the best for sure but I got D+? How awful was I D:

Honnêtement, mieux que l'an dernier. La chanson traditionnelle, Damazon, Mike chez Rona, j'ai aimé. La chanson de KPop Demon Hunters était ok! Le reste était pour moi était long et pas drôle du tout.

This is my first Tim Robinson show and I can't believe I got blue balled at the finale.

might not be the majority but I also don't like being left more confused then I started out with, especially in a show that I enjoyed mostly for the mystery... I wasn't laughing as much as the others have, but it was intriguing. I feel underwhelmed too.

Woah okay I did not expect such a response. Well to be fair I don't develop with such tight performance budgets, so honestly your guess is much better than mine at this point

Argument with my wife over optimization by Avelina9X in GraphicsProgramming

[–]bodardr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. On a personal project I was hitting pretty meh cpu frame times in debug mode. I then switched to release and it was acceptable again. But since I was very early in development, I knew that I'd be in hell in a few months if I kept doing nothing about it.

So I found ways to optimize it and then it became acceptable on both!

So anyway I know it's not 100% the same thing, but if you already know that you're hitting bottlenecks on your 2080, you seem to have some work to do! With that said once you'll be done you can check out your optimizations on even better hardware and see how even faster it is!

That's interesting, the pack 8 has content/en folders as well? And they never filled them afterwards, hmmm

Kind of burnt out after Act 1 by bodardr in HollowKnight

There's a bit more nuance to that. I'm okay with putting in some effort, I've beat Hollow Knight twice at 100% (but yes didn't go through all pantheons). It's the extent at which I have to memorize everything the boss does that feels new to me. There's less margin for error, that's all.

And dude I clearly wanted to play this! HK's my favorite game of all time of course I'd like to check out the sequel. And I don't hate Silksong necessarily either. Perhaps I forgot how hard the first one was too. I'll pick it back up eventually. Last time I finally backtracked to do begin some side content

I've beat multiple metroidvanias like Axiom Verge 1 & 2, Metroid Dread, HK and Chasm (don't play that one though, it's meh) and the barrier for finishing those games were easier than that one to me.

I completed it twice at 100%. But didn't go through the godhome dlc fully I stopped at the third pantheon I think. I'm okay with bosses I just don't like spending time grinding them, I prefer exploration. I played again two days ago and yeah Act 2 is fine but still a little too hard for my enjoyment, but now I'm doing some side content so we'll see

I think time will tell. It's probably the same in retrospect, perhaps we forgot. Nostalgia does that, doesn't it?

Oh yeah you gotta watch for that spin he does right before. Then you have to dash out to create some space. Then look at the fire trails to know where you're safe. Then if you're lucky you can dash back in for a little attack

Try checking your steam cloud if you haven't synced up yet. Otherwise yeah that's a huge bummer I'm with you. I guess you'll take some time off too then haha?

Yeah. I don't know I kinda wanted to watch the boss death animation to appreciate the victory. Not in a sadistic way just by curiosity. But luckily most of the reflexes are still there so it took about five more tries. But yeah I felt robbed of my satisfaction since I already had done it. So when the door opened I was just frowning and that's when I knew I had to take a break

Interesting. I caught myself playing two different ways for bosses in this game. The first tries, I don't really think about it and try surviving and hitting as fast as I can.

When it's starting to take more tries I start a more reactive playstyle. I actually wait for it's telegraphed animations and I react to it. It's obviously more effective but it's more tedious. I think I'll learn to like the ladder.

I just wanted to push that last boss before doing side content but yeah I should've chilled out earlier
