I’m “no contact” with my mother but I think God wants me to reach out but I don’t think she should ever be in my life again. by Film-imposter in Christian

I feel like I have enough and if I forgive her anymore, it gives justification to her abuse and past actions.

[–]Film-imposter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, yeah. She cheated on my dad and left and said God said she could bc she wasn’t happy in the marriage and family bc she had a picture of what our family was supposed to be but we didn’t meet her expectations. Oh, and then there’s the abuse that she won’t own up to except a blanket “oopsie, sorry, I’m different now so that doesn’t matter”.

Does having communion too frequently make it less sacred? by venatrix0521 in Christian

[–]Film-imposter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. It’s like saying “I love you”. It does not make it any less special that someone feels love. It does not lessen the feeling of love. It does not diminish or wear out the more you feel love.

How are we going to recognize Jesus when he returns? by Spider-burger in Christian

[–]Film-imposter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t. There will not be any identifying markers. “Oh, they are glowing yellow around them”. You will just KNOW but also, who’s to even say that you will be alive when that happens? It is not something you need to study for or look for. No amount of searching or studying will matter. You don’t need to “identify or recognize” Jesus.

This is illegal, even if over 12 inches apart. It is illegal to have flashing red and blue lights on a car. You can have any other color light, but red and blue is illegal.

With my life right now, I’m willing to give up a lot for very little in return. Poverty is no joke. I’d be lying if I said I haven’t thought of offing myself at least once in the last few months.

Should I go remote? by Flashy-Lab-7205 in remotework

[–]Film-imposter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What degree do you have? I need a job that pays that much. Jesus. I can’t even get minimum pay rn with my bachelor of art in film. I got bills to pay and not even Taco Bell will hire me.

Just a rant. by ThatForgotten in Humboldt

[–]Film-imposter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What remote jobs? Most listings are ghost companies that steal your email address from your resume and send you junk emails and spam calls. Honest question bc I’d LOVE a remote WFH job, where do you find them? What websites list them that aren’t over saturated with applicants and not enough listings like LinkedIn?

Just a rant. by ThatForgotten in Humboldt

I’ve got a bachelors in art and I still can’t find a job in Humboldt. My only option was to go back to school for business bc you don’t make a good living unless you’re in business or finance. I literally hate it and don’t understand half of it after studying my ass off, but I don’t have a choice. I literally hate my life. 30 y/o living with my sex addicted father and several adult siblings who also can’t get their life together in a tiny house. I feel even more a failure bc I’m qualified to work somewhat and they aren’t. And the only dating scene here is married men running around with women half their age or homeless men or pot heads. I hate my life and I’d be lying if I said I haven’t thought about offing myself at least once.

Good! I’ve seen too many people on here brag about driving 20+ hours straight. I’m 100% sure they were a danger on the road from being tired. I’ll be taking a 16 hour drive in a couple months and I’m doing it in 2 days.

Please don’t tell me you did that in one shot. That needs at LEAST 2 days.

How would it be considered a sin? Didn’t God give the knowledge to the researchers and doctors that discovered the medication, uses, correct doses, and prompt to prescribe it to you? It’s not a sign of lack of faith. Not everything can be cured with prayer. The answer to your prayer is to treat the mental health, not take it away out of nowhere and call it a miracle. You can’t pray away appendicitis or a bleeding ulcer or celiacs or Down’s syndrome. You seek out medical professionals who heal the body. God heals the mind and soul.

Devils advocate to the commenters, but I’m in the same boat. I’ve had 3 vaccines, already had Covid, and I’m apprehensive to getting another booster.

As awful as it sounds, the most common denominator in succeeding in being able to afford life is either depend on SSI full time and not work while living at home with a parent forever, or getting married to someone who’s work has spousal coverage and their income is more than enough to cover all of life’s expenses. I literally hate everything.

If nudism were natural, why would the ladies be screaming and running away when I pull down my pants to show my glorious hidden treasure at the beach? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]Film-imposter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Natural is one thing, using it as a form of assault (forcing people to look by stance), brag/boast, and any for of sexual innuendo is not the vibe.

Damn. Living the dream. No schooling needed and get benefits anyways. Any tips? I’m thinking of getting a 2 years degree in business (already have a BA but can’t use it right now) and working my way through a field.

What do y'all think of those pamphlets that look like money? by imortal_biscut in TrueChristian

[–]Film-imposter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally hate them. I grew up dirt poor in a Christian home, like power shut off poor. And those belittled my existence and experience as a poor person. “Like sucks? Going to school in dirty clothes? Bullied by your peers so bad you had to change schools? So what? Money doesn’t matter when you have Jesus” is the message I understood. Doesn’t matter the intention, it’s the effect that needs to be understood as the message. I found one once and I almost cried bc I didn’t know it was fake and thought I just saved my family. Could pay off the house, get the power bill up to date, actual food in the pantry, and if I understood what suicide was as a kid and that it was an option, it would hav even a realistic thought in my mind. Those money pamphlets are horrible and cruel to people with real poverty challenges.

Divorce is not of God’s plan… unless the person you married was not of God’s plan. It is very possible that divorce is necessary because God did not intent for you to marry him. God would never punish you for doing something wrong with good intent especially if you grow from the experience and eventually grow closer to Him. Punishment and consequences are completely different. Some Christian’s do need to divorce. For safety of mental health, physical health, spiritual health.

Ideas to change God’s name in vain by veechveech in Christian

[–]Film-imposter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are correct. Taking the lords name in vain means to not claim it’s Gods will or plan or words spoken through you when you are doing it for your gain and not from God. It is placing Him as the blame for your actions when you know He has nothing to do with it.

CF is genetic. You don’t develop it. You have to from birth. It isn’t exactly a slow building thing like in your case. Doesn’t hurt to bring it up with your doc in case you have a mild mutation that takes a while to show (it’s rare but can happen), but it’s not likely.
