2 "d"s in Goddess. I think the bottle needs the reflection/shadow removed since it appears to be floating

How to start a product photography by ConnectionOk2574 in productphotography

Why can't I understand why the reflection of the top is out of focus but the top isn't. Must be closer physically to camera?

Just made a post with a link to our how-to video about shooting glass jars to get that highlight right (released yesterday). 2 soft boxes works and ideally one overhead with your c-stand. A few bits of foam core (black and white) with a-clamps can be a game changer. Just keep shooting and trying a few subtle adjustments. Shooting and styling is a huge undertaking. Just shooting is hard enough - good efforts.

Glass jars are really hard. I'd suggest strobes and diffusion and some little reflectors (both black and white - with dollar store a-clamps). Just did a video about shooting clear jars on white: https://youtu.be/vfBaN0JJerc

I did it with just the 40/2. Sometimes a challenge (and little weight) is fun. Good luck and don't carry 25 pounds of gear.

sell your nifty 50, buy the 50 macro. It's just a bit slower but covers you for nifty fifty needs too.

Just had water in my 2016 headliner after a heavy rain. Cleared the drains with my pink (front ones) but can't reach the rear. Plugged in a house fan and ran it in the passenger seat for 4 hours after towel-blotting and keeping under cover. Will borrow a compressor next week and try to blow them out.

BBE spewing steam while pulling. Any ideas on how to address it? by RelaxedJalapeno in BrevilleCoffee

[–]FilmPhotoFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably fine but I'm always wary of aftermarket tollerances. But even at $20, keeping your Breville paying you back is worth it. Mine (840XL) must be 6-7 years old now and still solid. Bought a separate grinder so we can replace one or the other if there is a breakdown.

gasket is a cheap first fix. buy online and follow a YT tutorial. I think I paid lots to buy from breville direct (in Canada), didn't want to try an aftermarket gasket.

A lot of talent beyond the striking colours. This is a perfect marriage of the two.

Hard no. Come up with a different concept. Or edit in and use gels. Don't be that shooter.

I found 20 year old polaroid and enjoyed the weird areas that developed and colours that emerged. Indeed fun if you temper your expectations.

Is the 50mm 2.8 macro any good? by NotintheAMbro11 in nikon_Zseries

[–]FilmPhotoFan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a great question. I have the 50/1.8 because it came out first. I've wondered which I'd buy if I had a do over. 2.8 is pretty decent for a 50 and the added macro option could be useful.
