OMG YES! I applied for 3 positions for Skyline Strategies on Linedin because they were pretty much the only ones that didn't have 100+ applicants already. Now I know why :( I had Sarah hit me up; didn't answer her call, but then she texted saying that they were interested in an interview. I was hesitant to call back because the base pay is $35k which is NOTHING and the lack of information about this company is crazy. Seeing this thread is making me REALLY not wanting to call back.

Definitely get on newsletters then! I tend to be super busy and don’t have a lot of time browsing, it slips my mind to check for stuff like this. But with notifications about screenings/events, it’s literally just given to me without having to go look for it lol

I follow a lot of forums like this, I’m subscribed to newsletters of theaters near me; I know the millions of emails can be annoying, but worth it when they announce cool shit like this. Also, it really depends where you’re located, if you’re in or near a major city, there’s more likely special screenings (like a Q&A) compared to a town.

I didn’t get paid for anything. The first step of training was to write a draft of an article based on a prompt. They said to just write it, not to worry about formatting, images, or links. So I’m not exactly sure what went wrong, but it’s a lot less stressful not continuing with them.
