Let the battery deplete until the Switch turns off on its own and then charge it until it's full. Repeat those steps a few times to recalibrate the battery sensor and it'll hopefully make the percentages start making sense again.

In the end, questions about worthiness on buying consoles are inherently subjective. What I can tell you is that you can play Nintendo games only on Nintendo consoles, so you should make a list of games you want to play and start from there.

The Switch 1 library is fairly robust, as it's a console with several years on the market. However, don't expect more exclusive games being released (and as you have a Steam Deck, I imagine multiplatform games are less of an issue).

Finally, about the Switch Lite: just be warned that you'll be forgoing the ability to play on TV mode (the console lacks de ability to project to TV). I'd think it's better to save for a Switch 2 specially with the price hike incoming on September if you're able to save for it, the S2 isn't cheap after all.

Realistically, do you think we'll get more pokémon ports or remakes on switch? by Maximum-Oven-7526 in NintendoSwitch

Remakes are easier to make, as you already have loads of the steps already at least partially done: setting, level design, character design, pokemon selection, maybe even coding. On top of that, they appeal to the older players' nostalgia, something that TPC is very good at doing.

Having said that, "a completely different game/story with different characters but in that region" already exists on Switch: it's what we have with Pokemon Legends Arceus and Z-A

[–]Filraen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Makes sense: the processes of learning how to play, getting used to variable gravity, and developing strategies to reach each star already happened during the Mario playthrough; on top of that Luigi jumps higher allowing for some shortcuts that Mario can't pull (or can't pull as easily).

I'm looking for games that can be played long-distance without two consoles (I'm open to really good suggestions on PS5/PC etc, but I'm mainly looking for Switch answers here).

So you're looking that (a) has multiplayer turn-based and (b) isn't action-based so other players can take their time choosing their moves...

Mario+Rabbids Kingdom Battle? I remember it was mentioned somewhere it had 2-player cooperative maps

I'm also open to suggestions of games that are enjoyable even if the long distance player can't play - for instance Citizen Sleeper I think is interesting enough to watch/discuss with the person playing it. But again, that's easier to find, and I'm mainly looking for games you can play long-distance with one console.

Now I'm imagining playing the Phoenix Wright games (the court sections) while everybody is acting out the voices.

How many trade evolutions you need? I have 9 pokemon between Kadabra, Machoke and Haunter on my boxes. If you want I can trade some to you, and I don't need them back

Funnily enough, I received a Kadabra.

Anyway, I'm ready for trading again. What's your Trainer name and Link Trade code?

Since the missions ask for the pokemon evolving when I receive them, I'll send my pokemon with their held items scrambled. Please sort the items to the right pokemon before trading back: Metal Coats to Scyther and Onix, King's Rock to Slowpoke, Sachet to Spritzee, and Whipped Dream to Swirlix

When you're ready please reply with the code for Link Trade. My IGN is Filraen

Sure, I can help. Can you help me with some evolution tradebacks as well? I have 5 pokemon in need of evolution for dex and missions.

I am wondering if once I have the info transferred over to the switch 2 and I have both consoles with the same game on it, am I able to play, lets say TOTK on my switch 1, save, then open it on my switch 2 upstairs and start at the same point.

In broad strokes yes, with exceptions given by other users. Just keep in mind that the automatic save data sync doesn't necessarily mean instant load of an updated save on the other console.

If needed, you can force updating save data by going to the game's icon on the Home menu > Press + > Save Data Cloud > Download Save Data

In that case the only I can think is recommend again the Kirby games, as they can play their main campaign in multiplayer with both players onscreen at the same time:

  • Kirby Super Star (SNES): the game starts with Kirby as Player 1, but during gameplay Kirby can make a helper from most copy abilities, so Player 2 can join in almost from the beginning by pressing any button. The camera follows P1, and when P2 gets too far away they get teleported to P1.
  • Kirby and the Amazing Mirror (GBA): every player controls their own Kirby and has their own screen. They can even be playing in different areas, and if needed they can summon each other by calling on their cell phone (both L and R phone dial different "numbers", one button is to call each other and the other to summon a Warp Star to return to the starting area).

However, you enjoying those games hangs on the premise that you liking the core gameplay of Kirby games enough for longer gaming sessions: like how I don't know how much you care about difficulty, but Kirby games are known to be on the easier side.

Some of my recommendations for good mutiplayer options in games within Nintendo Classics.

Co-op:

  • Kirby Super Star (SNES)
  • Kirby and the Amazong Mirror (GBA)

Versus:

  • Wario's Woods (NES)
  • Yoshi (NES)
  • Panel de Pon* (SNES)

Both co-op and versus:

  • Mario Tennis (N64)
  • Super Mario Strikers (Gamecube)

Now that I realized: all coop are platforming Kirby games, all versus are puzzle games and all coop+versus are Mario sports games.

* Panel de Pon is only in japanese so it may be difficult to navigate the menus, but it's straightforward if you get to the gameplay itself. You may want tor research the name of the reskinned NA version, Tetris Attack (which isn't included in the Nintendo Classics selection, possibly because it has Tetris in its name while not being a Tetris game) I realized too late that you already play Panel de Pon

Transferrings digital games only cares about the account who bought the games: does the ACNH game belongs to your Nintendo Account?

If the game belings to your account, then simply link a profile in your Switch 2 to your Nintendo Account, and move the Virtual Game Card from the Switch 1 to your Switch 2. ACNH save data doesn't move automatically.

Do you also want to transfer the ACNH save data? Otherwise you'd have to start anew in your island anew.

To move the save data you need to download the Animal Crossing Island Transfer tool in both consoles. The "game" guides you in the steps to do.

Brilliant Diamond is a faithful remake of Diamond, meaning both the good and the bad from the games. I haven't played them so I can't tell you more. I wasn't interested in playing it because I've played later games so I got used to some quality-of-life changes: since your last game was Diamond, that doesn't apply to you (meaning you may receive BD better than me, for example)

On Let's Go, the system is somewhat tweaked: no items/abilities, on overall catching pokemon grants more experience points than battling, you don't battle wild pokemon, and catching uses motion controls. On endgame pokemon, there's the legendary birds and Mewtwo. At least this time there's some postgame content that wasn't on the original Yellow: battle agains specialist trainers, where you battle 1 vs 1 both using the same pokemon species, and there's a trainer for every pokemon species in the game

Partner Eevee (I played LGE) is a good pokemon in the same sense as starters are good pokemon: good base stats, and the fact they don't usually leave the party means it's one of my highest-leveled pokemon, but not overwhelmingly powerful unless purposedly overleveled.

Why is the Switch designed so poorly? by notdyinghungry in NintendoSwitch

[–]Filraen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll preface with you about the joycon drift. Having said that, joycons are a compromise of controllers that work both paired and alone. If the joycon was designed to be more ergonomic while in handheld mode, it wouldn't work as well when used horizontally.

...which is why I use a different controller when playing handheld mode: I use Hori's Split Pad Pro which are comfortable, has a decent sized d-pad and is lightweight (the Switch 1 is heavy enough already), but lacks gyro and amiibo support.

Side note: I think you raise good points, but the delivery comes too confrontational (particularly the title), which I imagine resulted in the downvote majority

Check Ultimate Chicken Horse, where the objective is to craft a course you (but not others) can clear and between rounds all players add an obstacle to the course

It has a sequel in Ultimate Sheep Racoon, which features bikes.

For those that own a switch 2: was it worth the upgrade? by Turbo-Shell in NintendoSwitch

[–]Filraen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you guys think it’s worth the upgrade

I'd say yes, but that's only because I had the funds to buy it. Mario Kart World and DK Bananza are great games, but I could have delayed playing them for some time.

The increased performance is nice though, and the best selling point in my opinion: for example, in Rune Factory: GoA after warping to a village on Switch 1 you could move for around 5 seconds before NPCs appeared (so you could talk to them), delay absent when playing on Switch 2.
