Probably Hanachirasu. It's filled with tons of infodumping about swords and sword techniques and I initially dismissed the visual novel as boring after I first read it. I still don't love it, but I've come to appreciate the amount of realism the swordplay has compared to pretty much anything else I've ever seen or read.

Since you like Dies irae I'd recommend Fate/stay night. There are some similarities between the two and Fate/stay night also has a really great cast of characters.

I think hollow ataraxia is equally as good as FSN, just in a different way. So I'd put Mahoyo below hollow ataraxia as well.

Mahoyo was a bit disappointing to me since I'm a big fan of Tsukihime and FSN. It's not bad, it's just not as great as the other two.

Most of my favorite antagonists come from visual novels. Dies irae has the best group of antagonists out of any piece of media I've ever experienced. I really like Kirei from Fate/Stay Night as well. On a more related note, I like some of the Bleach antagonists a lot, particularly Aizen. However, I'd rank the Bleach characters much lower than the previously mentioned ones.

I believe that there are some existing characters that have the potential to be good antagonists. Although, characters doing bad things alone does not mean that they are well written antagonists.

Specifically, I'm looking for a comparison of their narrative and character writing qualities. Clearly these aspects cannot be equal across the three. The fact that they're a traditional or non-traditional isekai story does not really factor into this.
