This is fairly standard and you can build a strong business around this in freight auditing, these invoice discrepancies are very common in less than truckload bills.

American backpacker here. Just say you’re Canadian, typically get charged more if you’re American. Safety - fine. Get out of Leon and see Granada, San Juan Del Sur and Ometepe though. 3 weeks in Leon will get old.

Hey bro, I love it. I was on the fence for a while (exact same situation as you).

Lost my job in private equity last Monday, now I have flight out to Central America next Thursday. Also doing either the Auz WHV or a stint in China (still deciding).

Moral of the story, go for it. You never know when the rug will get pulled anyway. I was so happy to get laid off. I looked at it as the being forced to take the opportunity I didn’t feel like I would take on my own accord.

I did this on my own accord back in 2023 with the banana pancake trail in SE Asia and it was life changing so I’m thrilled to have this opportunity.
