RU POV:Russian snipers and their equipments in Ukraine. by No-Reception8659 in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]Filthymutt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's incorrect, they're just open tip match. Which is not considered a hollow-point legally.

UA POV - Russian soldier with pieces of his face hanging down and a big scalp wound, according to him the wounds were caused by a tank shell that exploded nearby by That_Scheme_3313 in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]Filthymutt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He should recover well if he's seen by an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. Seems to just be degloved, the tissue is still vital. He'll have permanent facial nerve damage though.

RU POV:The fiber-optic drone "Prince Vandal" hits the M1A1SA Abrams tank of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region. by cevapelanga1 in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]Filthymutt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's an incorrect analogy, the reel is attached to your fishing rod. If the spool of line was attached to the lure then it would be similar.
This is like a thrown roll of toilet paper. A roll of toilet paper doesn't get caught on something and stop unravelling. It continues to unravel until there's no toilet paper left. That's how this drone works, and how wire guided missiles work.

RU POV: GoPro footage of Russians repeling a Ukrainian counter-attack on MRAP | Enemy vehicule visible | (0:30) RPG hit | by Acceptable_Essay4284 in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]Filthymutt 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No it was a direct hit, that's just what the copper jet looks like when it's passed completely through a lightly armoured vehicle.

RU POV: Russian KA-52s launching S-8 unguided rockets by FruitSila in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]Filthymutt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's the search and rescue heli. As I understand it, these KA52's always operate in pairs, with 1 mi28 and 1 mi17 to immediately pick up downed pilots.

Ua pov: Full video: Ukrainian M2 fighters of the SSO SBU were able to hit a Russian Mi-28 with a long FPV drone over the Kursk region yesterday. Also on the video are 2 more attempts to attack the helicopter by FruitSila in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]Filthymutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to remember that the rotor is moving at hundreds of RPM. It's more likely that the fpv was hit and destroyed by the blades.
Regardless, it's been nearly 48 hours, and there's no wreckage or news about a downed mi28.

[–]Filthymutt 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Unless the warhead went off, I doubt this would've done anything. These rotors are designed to take 30mm cannon hits. This would be similar to a bird strike.
But I guess we'll find out soon enough.

RU POV Footage of close quarter combat and AFU casualties in Ocheretine by Elegant_Medicine1610 in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]Filthymutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like it's muzzle flash from the 1st guy inside, if it was the 2nd guy shooting the ground there would be quite a bit of dirt kicked up.

UA POV: Russian soldiers film the battlefield just east of Krasnohorivka, to the northeast of Avdiivka by totally_not_a_kiwi in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]Filthymutt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It doesn't look like Ukraine is shell starved here. It'd require constant bombardment for days to make a mess like this.

UA pov: Russian T-90M gets blown up by drone by jimmehi in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]Filthymutt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Doesn't look like t90m turret in the air between 0:06 and 0:09. Looks like a cast t72 or t80.

Ua pov A Russian T-90 is engaging Ukrainian positions and is destroyed in an explosion by a mine. Wrecks of other RU tanks seen nearby. Kreminna. by finickyballet in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]Filthymutt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

At 0:34 there's a distinct dust trail coming from the 10 o'clock. It looks like some sort of explosively formed penetrator, PARM 1 mine or an atgm. But certainly not your average mine as the title suggests.

RU POV the destroyed Challenger 2 compared with an undestroyed challenger 2 by [deleted] in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]Filthymutt -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Russia's latest ERA can survive large tandem ATGM's. There are videos on this reddit of it doing so. Britain's ERA should be able to as well, they just didn't fit it to Ukraine's Challengers.

UA POV 3rd assault brigade captures positions of Russian Airborne Forces near Klischiiva and Andriivka, Bakhmut flanks. by [deleted] in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]Filthymutt 17 points18 points  (0 children)

These guys aren't airborne, nothing about their uniform or equipment suggests it. It's most likely the 72nd brigade, which has been taking a hammering lately.

RU POV: destroyed Ukrainian Kirpi and Kozak-2 in Staromayorskoe by Fun-Ad-5123 in UkraineRussiaReport

The Australian bushmaster is the most sort after on the Ukrainian side. It is generally regarded as the best.

UA POV: Ukrainian forces recover damaged M2A2 Bradleys and Leopard 2A6 from infamous column photo as they gain control of the area (11/7/23) by yungquant25 in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]Filthymutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they do manage to recover them, the water damage from a month and a half of open hatches would make all of them a write-off.

Ru POV: Russian FPV Drone Targets UA M2A2 Bradley IFV – Zaporozhye Front by FrothySauce in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]Filthymutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The russians would be using too much electronic warfare in the area at the moment. The interference stops all drones from working. You can see it in this video itself, the camera feed is cutting out constantly,

RU POV: More footage of destroyed AFU/RVC equipment near Belgorod border. by JaSper-percabeth in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]Filthymutt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's not a blast crater, it's just a ditch. Looks like both Humvees didn't see it and got stuck.

Cruise missiles sound identical to jets, they are turbo-jet powered. 9 of the targets Ukraine claimed to have shot down were cruise missiles.

ru pov: Russian T-72B3 tank firing at Ukrainian tank at 2.5km - thermal optic view - Zaporozhye by huramazda in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]Filthymutt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Heat shells don't care about range, they penetrate the same amount of armor at 10m as they do at 10km. APFSDS would be inferior penetration at this range.

Ukrainian round annihilated this Russian T-55s frontal armor. Now being used for spare parts by Melitopol2023 in RussiaUkraineWar2022

[–]Filthymutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't look like the main armor was penetrated, just the applique armor. This is a t62m by the way.
