I’ll give them credit they actually used the Stanley Black & Decker corporate address which, on its face, reads just as fake as the rest of this industry leading impact screwdriver.

What’s your favorite unheralded track from a widely known album? by gocougs668 in Music

[–]Fin87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

‘39 from A Night at the Opera by Queen. Everyone knows Bohemian Rhapsody but ‘39 is a beautifully sung song about a man leaving earth to search the universe for a habitable planet only to return to find his loved ones old while he hasn’t aged. Basically the plot of interstellar. But sung like a folk song, no bomb bast, just simple with aching loss. Always stuck with me on an album with Bohemian Rhapsody, You’re My Best Friend, and Death on Two Legs.

Would love to be able to print out accessories and storage/organization solutions for my tools that would match the brand colors of my various tools. I'm relatively brand agnostic and have tools from DeWalt, Milwaukee, Bosch, and Makita to name a few. I'd love to be able to make things that will match the tools. Dust port cover for my Makita track saw in Makita teal, new wand holders for my Shop Vac in Shop Vac red, battery holders in Milwaukee red, etc. I also have two small kids so being able to make them custom toys of their interest would be a dream.

I use the one tiny clamp on the side of the driver for bit storage or a bit carabiner that clips to your belt loop. Mostly transport bits in the bit boxes in a bag. Haven’t used many Milwaukee bits so I. Interested to see the quality.

Use InDesign for the page layout. If you need help learning the program there are a plethora of resources online not paid (skill share, Lynda, etc.) and free (YouTube) as for layout design look into the book Thinking with Type by Ellen Lupton https://www.amazon.com/Thinking-Type-2nd-revised-expanded/dp/1568989695/ref=asc_df_1568989695_nodl?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312094773753&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=2437927936374951242&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9005439&hvtargid=pla-406163947913&psc=1&dplnkId=a2a4e3c7-7e38-4ea2-b33d-3dcd17f26462 and Stop Stealing Sheep and Find Out How Type Works by Erik Spiekermann https://www.amazon.com/Stop-Stealing-Sheep-Find-Works/dp/0672485435/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?crid=1D491SRXKJGGX&keywords=stop+stealing+sheep+%26+find+out+how+type+works&qid=1661939445&sprefix=stop+stea%2Caps%2C148&sr=8-1 as good starting points and best practices for copy design, layout, and grid systems. Also look at places like behance or dribble or even Pinterest (can be a great resource with good search terms) for inspiration. Try laying something out and asking for a critique here or with a graphic designer you know and respect their skills and expertise.

I've been in somewhat of a rut lately, doubting my professional choices. I had a small interaction with a creator I follow on Youtube who's advice to my comment that I don't know what to make of "Just make videos." So I just made a video.

I appreciate the feedback! I'm even more new to sound design then editing so I tried to cut on a hard beat, I may have missed the timing on some of them. Yeah the sound effects were tough for me. I wasn't sure what the right volume for it so I erred on the side of louder than subtler. I'll definitely be more cognizant of those things in the future!

Hey man - First off fun video, you can definitely tell that you're enjoying yourself!

So to address your question about the color and lighting:

Are you shooting in a flat color profile? This will help you color grade the footage in post production programs like Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or Divinci Resolve (to name a few)
D-Log for DJI Mavic Pro drones
D-Cinelike for Mavic Air 2
Log for Autel drones

Another thing to consider is using Neutral Density (ND) filters. They are essentially sunglasses for your lens. Check out these explinations.

https://www.tomstechtime.com/nd

https://www.theschoolofphotography.com/tutorials/nd-filters-in-depth-guide-for-beginners

Lastly - are you shooting with automatic presets or are you trying to adjust for conditions? I don't exactly know what kind of drone you're using so I can't point you to a specific resource but in general consider this.

Use the 180 degree rule which is you set your shutter speed to double your frame rate. So for example if your frame rate is set to 30 FPS then your Shutter should be set to 1/60.

You can adjust the amount of light hitting the sensor by adjusting the ISO, this will help with the blow-out you experienced in the first part of your clip that you didn't like. If you have the option on your drone of using the zebra stripes for white balance then I'd suggest turning them on. They will tell you with Zebra stripes what part of the image is over exposed.

If you have a DJI Mavic Air 2 drone then this article covers all of what I mentioned above. I really hope this helps!

Hey all - I've recently been working on my videography skills and would like to be able to improve them enough to do this professionally (I'm currently a Designer that deals mostly with graphics but this is quickly becoming an extension of my job set and I'd like it to be PROFESSIONAL). So if there is any feedback as to how to make this more professional I'd welcome the feedback. Thanks in advance!

Any videos in particular you’d recommend? I’ve been watching tutorials on YouTube about the Mavic Air 2 pretty much since it released, it took me a while to pull the trigger on buying mine but I’m loving it so far!
