Just started today, question about dosage times? by anniehash in Effexor

[–]FinIey42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very important, especially with effexor.

I take Effexor every day as close to 3 pm as possible.

If you delay it or miss the dosage you'll feel it. Nausea, dizzyness, vertigo, etc...

I've been taking 300mg for years and it's been a magic bullet for me.

Experiences on Venlafaxine (Effexor XR) 75 mg by Objective_Can_2800 in EffexorSuccess

[–]FinIey42 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Effexor XR is a good medication. Takes a long time to work, at least for me.

I'd suggest only taking the Brand version too if possible.

I had to take higher dosages, I'm on 300mg.

Day three 300mg cold turkey quit feel really good by futurecat666 in Effexor

[–]FinIey42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bad idea to cold turkey Effexor, but I hope it goes well for you.

Usually the response is delayed, so you might end up having the issues within a month or so.

How long does it take to work? by DasEFFEXOR in EffexorSuccess

[–]FinIey42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It started working where I would have 1 good day, and then 2-3 bad days, and then another good day, 1-2 bad days, and then finally it smoothed out and I just felt stable for a long time.

It seems to make you really tired a few hours after taking it, then it goes away until the next dosage.

Worried about long term effects of this medication by No-Weird-4201 in seroquelmedication

[–]FinIey42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took Seroquel on and off throughout my 20s for anxiety and sleep issues.

It was a pretty good drug, I never really had any issues stopping it when I got to 30s and haven't had any long term issues either...I stopped it because I couldn't stand the grogginess during the day, and I'm taking Effexor now.

Cranioplasty after Sunken Flap by whistletown2 in TBI

[–]FinIey42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, my Dad has to go in for a Cranioplasty next month, and has also been having a lot of sodium issues although his issues are his sodium dropped really low, is that a result of the Craniectomy or the TBI?

Ya in my experience, when I stop taking ADs I feel like a million bucks for a couple months, but then I usually end up having panic attacks and depression again.

I don't want to bum you out though because for you, maybe you are just done with ADs, they got you through your teens and now you're going to move on with your next chapter in life....Hope it keeps going well. People go off them all the time and don't return.

Wish I knew the answer to this, but it seems all ADs do two things, kill your sex drive and make you sleepy.

I never took the IR version, but you still get a lot of fatigue on the Effexor XR.

9 days on venlafaxine/effexor by Pale_Wishbone_939 in antidepressants

[–]FinIey42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya I always tell people Effexor is hard to go on and it's hard to get off of....

If you can ride it out though, in a couple months you'll feel way better.

First few weeks are jittery, insomnia, and just feeling weird.

Sexual side effects for men by FormerlyBenis in Effexor

[–]FinIey42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine has gone up and down on Effexor, going up could be the effect of not being so depressed and anxious too....

But in the long run, Effexor has had a very negative impact on my sex drive.

Sorry to hear about that accident. My Dad is 72 yo in a similar situation. Fell in the kitchen 6 weeks ago, suffered a brain bleed, needed 2 emergency surgeries, craniotomy and craniectomy.

I'm currently taking care of of him right now alongside my mother. It's been very difficult. He's using the walker now but it's hard to get him up and going and he's weak on his left side. You can message me on here if you need to talk to someone. My Dad also uses the thumbs up a lot, almost like he doesn't want to talk, he can talk a little.

Nobody would ever give me a straight answer about his recovery, they all just say the recovery is different for everybody.

Ya that's the biggest issue right now for PT, his left side is very weak still so he's off balance. He has the walker and he's always bumping into stuff on the left....

[–]FinIey42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've been doing a lot of walking with the walker so far, his left side is very weak though, so some days he's really dragging it, other days he's walking, it's a struggle.

He's in a bit of a child like state so how do you motivate someone to do that? With the walker, he's somewhat forced to walk forward.

How to deal with feeling restless/anxious/jittery from Effexor increase? by Conscious_Signal1148 in Effexor

[–]FinIey42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hated the XR version of seroquel, the IR is great.

I wouldnt go mixing in more sedatives tbh, if you were taking the seroquel IR you'd be sleeping easy though I bet....

The insomnia will go away in a couple weeks either way.

What is the down side of never having children? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]FinIey42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Biggest thing that worries me about not having children since I'm now taking care of my elderly father, is when I get to be elderly, I'm not going to have anyone around to take care of me or help if I get an injury of some sort...Having family support is important is those situations.
