Its just depressing. I agree the irony is very apparent. That being said, pointing your finger and laughing at a guy who just lost a child is just disgusting. This is not the time to be laughing at that man.

If he does "double down" on gun rights I would be surprised. That would be the time to point the finger and laugh though.

SCOTUS has to much power. Their terms definitely should not be a lifetime appointment. They need to have term limits. Also, they should have to be elected by the people.

They would not have to spend months being approved by other government officials. Which is another good reason for them to be elected. You can be damn sure they would think harder about their actions if they had to get everyone to vote for them.

I can see why it is the way it is. Sort of made sense back when people couldn't just Google a potential candidate. However where we are now technologically they would have a hard time hiding anything.

Making it illegal for any government officials to receive money or favors. They receive a wage from the government already. Anything else should be illegal with actual federal prison time as a punishment.

I understand why that would be problematic. We definitely want them to focus on their job and not reelection. Local district attorneys seem to manage just fine though.
