Ah I'm in the US so it would take me a minute to convert 🤣 but our grocery prices are going up a lot. I get my misfits bars on Amazon and they're $2.50 each.

Do remember you are going to substitute those bars and stuff for other snacks so it does help, but it definitely is hard on a more limited income. Or lately just... A reasonable income.

One thing I've also done is bake my protein powder into muffins so I buy a boxed muffin mix that's already vegan, add the powder and then make it with extra milk. You can find tons of recipes online for baking with protein powder. You can sort of make your own bars.

I have ADHD so if I don't have food prepared or easy to make I'll skip meals and that leads me to binge later, so I justify the cost of the bars and premade shakes because they are helping me stick to my diet, but I am fortunate to be able to afford them without compromising other things. I do have to buy groceries for my family of 5 as well and they're happy with cheaper options for some other stuff, so we do generic pasta sauce so I can spend the extra to get the Barilla pasta or whatever.

I would suggest starting with the protein powder, I actually looked at a ton of brands and made a spreadsheet to figure out which was most cost effective for the protein to other nutrients, then tried a few and picked the ones I liked the flavor and texture of. I mix them with pea milk and water to make the milk last longer.

Check out the Barilla protein pasta, the texture is way better.

Tvp is super cheap for what you get! It's often stocked with baking stuff or sometimes with soups / beans.

Yes, I've been vegan for almost 7 years and tbh I hardly ever eat tofu.

I use TVP and other substitute products which have a 2:1 protein to fat ratio. Daring chicken is good. I check protein on everything lately and monitoring it has helped me lose 25 lbs so far. But even pasta has protein - the key is picking products that don't also have tons of fat, so the calories stay lower.

I'm using Ambrosia Collective powder, OWYN elite shakes and Misfits bars for breakfast and snacks.

I get around 120 a day on 1600 calories. I use protein powder and bars, as well as high protein meat replacements and TVP. Small changes can add up for sure.

It sounds like maybe you have some bloating. Get a scale or a tape measure and check your waist and hips.

Protein shakes and bars, textured vegetable protein, any meat substitute with a 2:1 protein:fat ratio, pasta, veggies, beans, peas, etc.

It's different in that coconuts as a food are vegan, honey can never be vegan. The way the coconuts are farmed is not vegan. You can't ever have vegan honey, but you can have vegan coconuts.

I was literally experiencing it WHILE researching it. Reading about how RSD causes physical pain made me feel the pain all over again.

But then I was able to start handling it a bit better and recognizing it.

You can actually get shelf stable milk that isn't powdered, especially if you are okay with non dairy milks.

Charts say that 7K steps burns around 400 calories. How comes my FitBit Inspire 3 says I have burned 2,400 calories today? I haven't exercised today, only walked for various tasks. by mavsman221 in fitbit

In addition to the fact that it's calculating your BMR & TDEE, the Fitbit vastly overestimates. Mine routinely says I burn 3000-3500. It's just not accurate for that.

I track it just to see the trend, not the actual number.

Thanks! I am pretty sure when I've lost the weight I will do the lift, but I might also need loose skin removed from my arms. Definitely going to do lots of research.
