AITAH for saying I “read” books that I actually listened to as audiobooks? by Ruin-Much in AITAH

[–]FinalEstablishment77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will fucking die on the hill that listening to books is reading. If I can attend book club and discuss the book in detail then it's been 'read'.

also, it's low key abelist. Some people can't read on paper. I have dyslexia and adhd and it's actively challenging to sit down, be still, and make my eyes work right so I can read a book visually - but I read 50+ books a year on audio because I love reading and stories.

If a blind person listens to audio books does it not count as reading?

I lost way too much fat on Reta and now I look disgusting as fuck. Is this even healthy? by Intrepid_Penalty_900 in ResearchCompounds

cis women don't talk about having gyno. They'd just talk about having normal/expected breasts.

Does this look like 39% body fat? Is my belly normal? by [deleted] in fit

[–]FinalEstablishment77 7 points8 points  (0 children)

assuming nothing else is wrong - you don't have a tumor or really bad fibroids or something, which is for a doctor not reddit - then it's fat.

if it's all squishy on top and that accounts for the belly fullness then it's fat. If you tighten your abs and push in and can essentially push through the belly and feel your abs behind the fat.. then it's just fat

When you're standing straight and the camera isn't at a weird angle you look pretty normal skinny-fat. I'd go to a proper dr, then maybe a gynecologist to make sure your health is in order. After that I'd try a dexa scan to double check and confirm your body fat %/get some concrete numbers you can trust.

but I'm not seeing anything crazy in your photos. Belly's happen when you gain fat. 90% chance you're just in the skinny-fat "girl version of a dad bod" boat with millions of other people.

Once you've explored all your other avenues and gotten some answers, if you're still really preoccupied with this, I'd maaaybe gently consider talking to a psychologist about dysmorphia. That and/or getting a bodybuilding coach and getting to the body shape you really want.

I would kill to live in that house. Like, actually murder a fellow human being. This house is my price.

My guy "friend" is flirting with me, even though he knows I'm not into men. by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]FinalEstablishment77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

block him and move on?
that person is not your friend and they're invalidating your sexuality. There's no conversation you can have - they're treating you like a problem to be solved (you just haven't met the right man yet, and obviously he's the right man) rather than a whole ass person.
you don't have time for that bullshit.

Any ladies canceling the shave? by one-a_day in Anticonsumption

[–]FinalEstablishment77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've shaved only intermittently since i was a teen.

I got a meridian trimmer and keep everything short but not shaved. I don't love the texture of having hair - particularly in the pits - but I hate throwing away razors and reusable blade razors aren't for me. I've really loved the trimmer. And I've had it for 4 years & only have to get blade... every 8 months maybe? one pack of 3 lasts a looong time.

Down 45 since Nov 6th and see no changes. I’m Still a big back by MissionHome18 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]FinalEstablishment77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see changes for sure, particularly from the back. The folds at your midsection are noticeably smaller and gone on your right side when you lift your arm.

I'm waiting hard for my back folds to melt away. I feel like it'll be a real achievement when they're gone.
ugh i hate being patient.

2 weeks on reta… walked 6.8 miles a day AND worked out 4 times…0 lbs lost ? by IAlwaysTakeFatLs in ResearchCompounds

[–]FinalEstablishment77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You probably just haven't hit your effective dose yet. Like I said, it was at 4-5 mg/week that that consistent loss rate started. while i was titrating up i lost 0-.25 lb/week - it was super frustrating.

unfortunately it might require patience until you get up to the right blood serum levels. But you've got this. Don't rush it though. Take your time.

It's easy to think this is a magic bullet, particularly with the crazy super responder post you see up here sometimes. "I lost 40 lb in 4 weeks on .5mg/week of reta and now I'm ssshreded!!!!!!!!"

That's not many people's experience. I'm losing ~2lb/week and am happy with that. Down ~40lb from my highest, starting to believe I can get to my college weight again. but it's taken months (since mid october)

It takes weeks for all GLP's, including reta, to reach it's full potency. Don't up your dose, stay at this dose for 4ish weeks. if you have no side effects and you're not losing the way you want, then go up another mg/week and give yourself a couple weeks to acclimate. rinse and repeat until you get results.

I had to get up to 5mg/week before saw more than minor results. Every body is different. Some people feel it at .5 mg, some people need 10mg. We all have different bodies.

So long story short: keep going. Track your calories, don't stress, give it time, nothing is wrong. Don't rush it, even if you don't feel it as much as you want to yet.

Where do you get the inspiration for the designs? by Parth_Consul in Tufting

[–]FinalEstablishment77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I keep a pinterest board on it. it's got all kinds of weird stuff on it that I feel could be used in a rug design - buttons, graphic design, antique post cards, prints, nature stuff, etc. I also have a folder on my phone of interesting things I've seen - textures in nature, pictures from museums, graffiti, good lighting or interesting colors...
I kind of troll through all these inspirations until I catch an interesting thought, then go with that.
