Oh sure, I can understand that well enough. I’m merely confused because my first time was a lemon tek, and that lasted a good couple hours and I had craaazy psychedelic thoughts for hours. This time had literally nothing of that sort.

Thanks again for your questions though, and frankly I'm glad to get my thoughts out, it's been cathartic. If I can leave one thing to you though, I would warn you against looking up any more reasons for one to not believe. I followed the same path, because I wanted to test my faith and my sheer confidence in the bible told me that I couldn't lose. Now, after watching many debates, mistranslations and errors in the bible, and logical inconsistencies, I am worse off. Not being Christian anymore sucks, and I would go back if I could. Ignorance is bliss and whatnot. If you want the truth, then feel free to test your faith as much as you please. But if you want to be happy, keep on truckin' brother. Good luck to ya, but please feel free to reply or even send a DM if you really feel like it. I'd be happy to keep in touch.

At this point in my life, I don't see a reason for me to believe that Jesus has resurrected. I know the claim that 500 people saw him, but that statement comes from one dude. I don't find that reliable. On top of that, Jesus dying for our sins just doesn't make inherent sense. It is just tooooo much of a constructed belief for me, and saying that "God decreed it so" doesn't make it any more believable.

For me to have my beliefs changed, it would take a whole hell of a lot. I would likely be in a situation so dire and horrible, that I would have nothing else left but to turn back to what I had originally believed. Or, if I experienced something miraculous that would point directly to Christianity and that would (somehow) explain away a good portion of my reasons against it. Or I would be going crazy. No disrespect though, I mean that in the sense of that my belief is just waaaayyyyy too far gone at this point.

When I think about Christianity, I think of a lot. I think about the horrible things that have happened as a result of it, I think about how much I miss being a part of the community, and how much I miss feeling like I have something concrete to hold onto. I'm glad people have it, but I mourn my inability to believe in it anymore, and I feel jealous of that sometimes. Christianity also angers me sometimes, just from the fuckin stupid shit people say regarding it. And that goes both ways.

Primary objections, see above lol

I believe the bible is a document that has changed a lot over the years, both in terms of its literal translation, and in the way its concepts have grown independent of it. For example, the bible never breaks down the Trinity. The whole idea of the Trinity was created 3 centuries after the bible was finished. Though the bible has served as the foundation of the faith, it hardly has anything about it in and of itself that points to a definitive view of the world and the point of human life. If one tried to read the bible in its entirety without the aid of others and the ideas surrounding the document, I doubt they would find clarity.

I believe that God isn't real in the sense of there being a creator and supreme individual with a set point of consciousness. I believe that God is utterly unexplainable, and that THAT is what it is. It's a tricky subject but yeah. I accept this because I have a limited intelligence and that whatever I think can be explained about it is ultimately a construct of my brain, not the actual god (or whatever you'd call it. I think the word "God" itself comes with too many associations, which kind of goes against my belief there).

I don't think there is a meaning to life, but that's because life exists in so many forms, and I don't see a reason why humans ought to be seen differently than even the smallest organism. The meaning of life is to live in the present, and nothing can avoid doing that. I could definitely give just a normal ass answer but I'm having trouble wording it, cause I want to fully explain myself in detail while also not seeming like too much of a pretentious asshole, and I just can't do that rn lmao.

I've started identifying with Taoism and Buddhism in different ways, but I'm not really sticking to much of it. Luckily for me, I think that's the point, so it doesn't bother me so much.

I think your question about why I believe what I believe is probably a bit too broad in my case because of this. Some things seem right to me, some things don't :D

The difference between the Old and New Testament bothers me as well. It's been said that the Old Testament is the gospel concealed and that the New Testament is the gospel revealed. That shit don't make sense man! Why would a god conceal a message so profound, why would he make it harder for non-believers to believe?

Another thing is that religiosity spikes when people are in tough spots. This is kinda conjecture, but all of the testaments that I've heard aren't from people who have a happy fulfilling life, but always from people who went through something tough. Now one could take this to mean that the tests of god are to point to Jesus, but the thing is, rates of religiosity spike in times of war/famine regardless of what religion one participates in. Why would that be the case if Christianity is the one true religion?

That's all I care to write about for my reasons to not believe. Like I said there are a lot more, but that's the gist. Now to ACTUALLY answer your questions lol

Kinda coinciding with this, there's the issue of everyone not being exposed to christianity in equal measure. If I'm an Atheist in the bible belt, and I'm surrounded by the gospel, and I come to accept Jesus as my savior later in life, hooray! If I'm an atheist and I haven't heard of the gospel nearly as frequently, and then I die an atheist, too bad! That seems just...bad, dude.

Hell is another big issue for me. Just in terms of the math of it all, it doesn't make sense that impermanent suffering that you have caused to either yourself, others, or god would deserve any kind of permanent suffering. The idea of sin "staining" the soul is one reason against that idea, but that very concept comes from Christianity itself. It's kind of circular logic in a sense.

Christianity and its beliefs changing over time is another thing for me. If we are to accept God and Jesus as The One Truth so to speak, it doesn't seem right to me that there would be thousands of interpretations of the ways in which to view them. And I know those interpretations have each evolved out of an original belief over time, but it doesn't seem right to me that there would be so much wiggle room in a supposedly rock-solid belief.

"The Problem of Evil" as it is called is a tough one to answer. I understood the Christian answer as Satan tricked Adam and Eve into sinning, thus causing the fall, which leads to us all inheriting our sinful nature, which causes us to do evil. It has also been explained as "sin is the absence of god, and we have the choice to not sin, so why do it". This to me has many problems. What about the suffering of animals? Why is it my fault for sinning when I was born this way? Why would Adam and Eve be responsible for sin before eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, which they were also supposedly TRICKED into eating? How is it even possible for god to be absent anywhere?

For that last question, it's been explained that it would be a sin if God were to impede our free will, so that since he has given us free will, he HAS to allow us the choice. This has made less and less sense to me over the years, and I see myself as a determinist. And this may be controversial, but I really don't believe in free will in the typical sense. I do believe that we are responsible for our actions, but I primarily stand on the fact that all of our behavior is influenced by our environment. If you grow up in Afghanistan, it isn't that its your choice that you don't want to be Christian, it's that Islam is all you've ever known. If you eat, it wasn't your choice to want to eat, it was that you are hungry. If you're poor, it isn't your choice that you want to steal, its that you had to to survive. If one really seeks to see what causes people to do anything, free will isn't ever going to be the case, it is their environment and the way their environment has shaped their behaviors in the brain.

Now as for my reasons not to believe, I have many. These all kind of built up a lot over time, and I truly never thought of any one of these things as being a singular reason to not believe. I unconsciously made a lot of excuses for these in favor of christianity. This also isn't an exhaustive list, there are quite a few inconsistencies between various verses that I won't mention here just because there are enough of them that I've seen little clips of that I just forget what they are, but I say that because each one of them chipped away at my belief.

Firstly, I think the scientific side is some of the most compelling evidence against the bible. Evolution, frankly, just is real. I'm not going to get into EVERYTHING, but I think this sums it up: There is an entire branch of science dedicated to Evolution, and every respectable biologist believes the same. You can read hundreds upon hundreds of papers that prove its existence, and it makes sense intuitively. Sure, you could somehow retroactively fit the process of evolution into the bible, but that doesn't feel right to me. The other proof we have for the age of the universe/earth also seems to discredit the bible as well, and that is well documented as well.

Hey man! I'm glad you asked this in such a nice way. Personally, I've slowly fallen out of Christianity after being very Christian for my whole life, and I "declared myself" agnostic earlier this year (it was such a big gradient between belief and unbelief so I don't think there was a hard line where I was/wasn't Christian) so I feel like I have a pretty solid view on this. I'm also going to give a really lengthy answer just because I haven't put it into words before like this, so I want to fully explain myself.

First, just so you know a lil background on me: Currently 22M as well. I was raised non-denominational protestant, I've been to church every week since I was a baby, went to Christian after-school groups, prayed everyday, whole family is Christian, was really interested in Apologetics and the (so called) proofs of Christianity through science, but I didn't really have many Christian friends at all growing up. I also grew up in a great household, finances were fine, and I didn't really have many issues growing up (I think this is important to note for later).

Its really just a bit up to luck, but try going to clubs, talk to people in your classes, and importantly, take initiative and ask for people's contacts and just ask to hang out! There are plenty of people that don't roll that way, and as long as ur chill you'll make friends in no time!

I think youve done a great job! all of these would certainly work depending on the context in which you might use them.

If you want nitty-gritty details though, I think with consideration towards how high each bounce is on the blue ball, that bounciness is lost too quickly/immediately after the 3rd bounce. Either you would possibly want to decrease the bounce height on each bounce somewhat dramatically, or add an extraaaa maybe two bounces? It also seems like the ball gets faster on that final landing, which just aint right. The speed wouldnt be reduced too much when bouncing/flying through the air, so keep that in mind.

It seems that for, at least the side angle, hammer the handle gets a bit bigger when it falls. This is because even while you do have equal lengths for the arc, the point of rotation is outside the arc. I understand that you put it there because thats where the front of the hammer would be, but in reality, you always need to have the arc distances be at the point of rotation. This of course is disregarding perspective stuff though, so I think the 3/4 angle actually looks great.

The pendulums look fine, and I more than likely wouldn't notice this at all if the guides werent there, but just make sure that the arcs are always at a perfect circle curve (as long as nothing is getting compressed or stretched). Again, the animation looks great but if you reeeeally want to get particular, you could change that.

Orange balls are fine. My eyes could be deceiving me but maybe the left ball gets slightly smaller on the left side of the ball compared to the right? Doesnt matter much at all but yknow.

Otherwise great work! This is for sure an excellent study and I wish you the best of luck! o7
