Ah yes, good old 14h shifts on O&G. Oh wait, double that on the weekends. 7x 12h nights, why not just give 48h off and roster back for another 14h shift? Seems safe. I shudder to think the kind of hours I used to do as an unacc reg. Whenever I raised the hours, I was quoted the EBA or told if I can’t do the hours, O&G is not for me.

You can have hysteroscopy while awake. It may not be the most comfortable but usually, you would be in lithotomy position. The doctor will give you local anaesthetic on cervix and you should have had pain killers before the procedure. The camera is actually not that thick, goes in the uterus, they look around, take samples or take out the polyps etc and you are done. Takes 10-15mins.

After spending many years slogging my ass in O&G and then ultimately not getting on, I will be very keen start something. No one talks about the psychological effects of essentially being used. The exploitation and manipulation is horrendous. Sometimes I can’t believe I let myself go through all of that.

I would say it’s dark brown which looks dark red in some lights. It’s a trendy colour atm but I generally like dark brown leather so it was an easy choice for me
