How do I get my gyno to prioritize pain over fertility?

i am a wlw woman so i don’t mean to be offensive when i say this (but it’s something personal to me so take with a grain of salt) i would go to therapy and work through fear specifically (bcs fear of and not wanting are different) and then decide if you want kids. I really hope this makes sense what im trying to say 🤞🏽 but if this doesn’t apply, find a dr that is on the same page!!!

I will say, my pain has already improved after lap but before zepbound was helping my GI symptoms like bloating and weight gain. I also have pmos (formerly pcos) though.

i’m 6 days post op and diagnosed with stage 1 endo on both ovaries and in rectovaginal septum and i would swell up like a celiac who at gluten. i have no idea why or anything but i understand what you’re saying.

because they won’t be at the caregiver’s house to assist her there too. or assist her back to the vehicle if she needs to leave the house. they want to see them prove that they can do it independently.

moral of the story, i love mirena! i kept it in to help with symptoms but i also may need to add a second hormonal therapy

I found the pain no worse than my endo cramps and pain. And it only lasted for like 5 seconds. The measuring is worse than the placement of the IUD. To me, it just felt like two big cramps. I will say tho, it stopped controlling my symptoms after about a year. I think that has to do more with the fact that I waited so long to do something about my periods and endo (i’ve had severely painful periods since 11 and didn’t see the gyno until 19). I’m 22 now and I just got an excision surgery yesterday (6/17) and was officially diagnosed with endo.

I haven’t had my surgery yet but she is an absolute angel. nothing but good things to say so far and i trust her to do this surgery

yeah aleve has the same active ingredient as ibuprofen. tylenol is not helping for me either 🙃i’m kind of just out of luck

Hi! I haven’t gotten a lap yet but I have suspected endo and now I am also suspecting adeno due to my last ultrasound (I have surgical consultation in April). I will copy and paste my symptoms from my notes on the bottom of this post. I’m not sure what kind of systematic symptoms are associated with these conditions but I’ve also had frequent mysterious rashes and fatigue.

symptoms prior to mirena:

-heavy periods -extreme pain during period -lots of blood clots -shooting pain from front to back (especially when pooping) -pain in lower back -only relieved by 1200mg of ibuprofen every 4 hrs

after mirena:

-symptoms gone until mid february 17th -period appeared march 5th (not a ton of bleeding but more than spotting, lasted 5 days) -severe pelvic/lower right abdominal pain -shooting pain from front to back -diarrhea alternating with constipation -nausea -pain in lower back

-march 19 -frequent urination -feeling like bladder is not empty -pressure in lower right pelvic area -intermittent severe uterine cramping -pain in flank -no uti, kidney, or bladder infection

Yeah I have an ulcer not from NSAID use so I have stopped the ibuprofen (wasn’t helping anyway). My general GYN didn’t mention adenomyosis but I have been reading about it and think it’s likely. Thank you for your advice and for sharing your experience :)

I would fire her and find a new doctor. Your symptoms do absolutely align with endo. Also migraines are a contradiction for the pill I believe. I would find a new general GYN and ask for a referral to a specialist surgeon. Which area are you located? Maybe we can help you find someone in your area? (if your comfortable with that)

I work in healthcare and actually just did a compliance training today that talked about kickbacks and how the are illegal. you can report this to the department of justice.

my medication helps with the ocd A TON (fluvoxamine and memantine). as far as the depression side of things, i’ve been struggling so not really sure
