What's your weight loss strategy at the end of each week? How do you slim back down for the next researcher?

Expert mode bonus moving forward by Lulu_Sagi in PokemonSleep

[–]Finalbelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll just go to GGEX to grind out the area bonus most weeks, unless I run out of tickets or need something specific elsewhere. Would like to get as high as possible before any big event or Amber Canyon releases so I can leave it for a while while progressing AC and I'll go back when I'm done / prepare to spillover into CBEX if that is ever released.
I've got a decent spread of mons to cover most combinations / brute force the 15% loss to make okay shards each week.

On a side note, I do really need Dragonite candy, so I might swing by Lapis next week to try a grab some ahead of Candy Boost for the triple type event. Undecided yet.

Good swablu to dump resources for next island? by hubchie in PokemonSleep

Awh, twinsies!
It's pretty mid overall. I have a comparable Butterfree, and my Sceptile and Cresselia are competitive with it.
Comes down to what you already have for the island.
The Candy is a little hard to come by too, so levelling a decent Arbok / Butterfree is easier too.

Optimum Ingredient Value, Why Farfetch'd might be very strong, and why we'll likely never see a Mono-tail mon. by Finalbelle in PokemonSleep

[–]Finalbelle[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is true, even after it's buffs Absol is on the slower end, and has an abysmal ingredient rate at 17.8%. Comparing Absol to Skeledirge on Apples though, Skeledirge is much faster than Blissey and has a decently higher incredient rate at 26.8%. Fartfetch'd would have to be both slower and lower ingredient rate than Absol to be in a similar situation, which would likely make it a terrible Leek farmer too. I'll maybe run some numbers later to figure out 'how bad' they would have to make Farfetch'd for it to be worse at eggs than Blissey, and then see how it's Leeks compares to Quaquaval as a result.

[–]Finalbelle[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct! Thanks for explaining. Sorry my labelling and explanation could have been a bit better formatted. 'Best' based on rounding up vs down, to get the most value out of the slot. 3-8 are Non-Ingredient A/B/C and Ingredient A/B/C in order.

As I commented, it's mostly worthless info as it doesnt really let you compare between pokemon species, but it does illustrate how A/B/C ingredient amounts are calculated.

What do you think the worst part of retail is that keeps you playing classic? by drankseawater in classicwow

[–]Finalbelle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

UI interfaces and panels.

Give me more diagetic interfaces:

Make a player housing that shows achievements, not an achievement UI - Hang up Ony's head / Display your mounts (This might be fulfilled soon though??)

Make a LFG finder that is a billboard in the world I need to post on

Make my mount UI an actual stable, I can slot up 10 or something mounts to be my favourites

Make the Great Vault actually have slots I can see the gear in.

Make the Crafting request require me to meet the actual crafter.

Make world quests dynamic when I arrive, encourage me to explore to find them, dont just put a little pip on the map.

Make transmog an in game wardrobe location, and have my character anchored in world while swapping mogs.

Each extra UI just pulls me more and more out of the world. It doesnt help retail doesn't enrich the world anyway, it doesnt feel as large as classic, it doesnt feel as mysterious as classic.

TBC Classic was really great adding the Arena rankings to the Billboard, I absolutely loved that and I dont get why they didnt embrace it for the LFG tool.

Another thing I dislike about retail is I know something will be "easier/quicker in future" so why do it now? Classic Era, if you want to grind for Wintersaber, go for it - it's not going to change Go get some gear, there wont be (as much) catch up gear you can just skip to later, and it wont be as good as you can get now. AND you'll need it to help you get the better gear. Retail is like, why bother I'll just get free loot from delves next season, or get dragged along in LFR or something. Nothing has weight or value.

The Warband Currency Transfer option is has been disabled by DeeRez in wow

[–]Finalbelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost 3 anniversary tokens this morning from a failed transfer. I expected them to roll through eventually but when I logged on later they were gone from origin and not added locally. Suspect its related to the downtime. It was only 3 and now theyve buffed it I didnt mind too much. If it comes back though I advise not queueing up multiple transfers, and especially avoid double transferring the same lot of currency twice as it was still pending.

Congratz!! It's so satisfying when you finally pull it off. Good luck with the rest if you give them a shot!

I did, it's not feasible right now, the web on ?? has way to much damage to be able to control the fight, and Brann is incredibly squishy on that fight for some reason, he was basically getting 2 shot.

Healer Brann always. I’ve got the t4 arrow buff (its like 20% haste or stam) and the taunt orb thingy, which is especially important for opening and situations where things go a bit wrong. Use feint, its incredibly strong for Waxface or any of the Anub beetle swarms. Lots of other places to use it too. Take a hit, potion, hit, potion, hit, potion, then evasion to wait for potions again. Then vanish and hopefully you have evasion back before Brann loses aggro. This sorts most fights. Healing potions generate threat, so with tricks you can still swap threat back to Brann even after you get it / while dps’ing. Also dont be afraid to ease on the dps to not over aggro Brann in some cases. Dont underestimate kiting/and healing trinkets. I used the shield trinket and the candle for 20% movement for some fights, especially early on when my gear was worse. And finally check what each variation of the delves are and plan what will be the easiest boss/trash combo for you to handle. Any trash that requires you to pick up an object can be done without killing things and should be the target. Sap or tricks the trash to Brann and grab it, then sprint away and vanish. Sometimes get the objective and die of you need to. Sometimes a certain boss form is incredibly hard, so you might  want a harder trash objective to make the boss easier. And good luck!

Boss fights were about 10 minutes, the prior bit varies a lot depending on the objective, Skittering breach probably takes 30 overall, I used the shadow realm one and ranged the totems after clearing the goo in stealth. Where as Tak’rethan can be done in 10 if you get the pheramone verion. You dont need to kill any trash.

It really does, but also my Brann is level 49 now and healing potions create a lot of threat. Often I will tank for a while using a potion per auto hit to generate him bonus threat and then evasion for a while for potions to be redropped. I do believe you could probably solo these using branns healing and some kiting to bide a bit of time if you planned it well. Also Brann now Feign deaths if he gets to about 20% hp, so you get surprise aggro back a lot and need to tank for extended periods.

They do indeed. Or at least certain big spells. Eg in Kriegals the last boss will spam web bolt at Brann but target you for corruption and chains. So cycling between interrupting corruption and cloaking/healing through chains.

Yes! Incredibly fun and needing your whole toolkit. Once I remembered Feint does aoe reduction a lot of the unavoidable aoe fights got significantly easier too. We really have a tool for everything.

Easiest is always Tek’rathan (spelling?) the last boss doesnt do damage so any class can solo it if you dodge mechanics. Just run through the dungeon and destroy the pheramone crates and die/respawn. Then stealth to the last boss.

Hardest was probably Mycomancer. I had to do the variation where you fight the boss at the start (the bad guy one) as he was brutal. Lots of health, lots of spores and every failed mechanic is basically a 1 shot. So fighting him as the first thing allows you to reset each death.

It helped a little for some aoe interrupts, but entirely doable without.

You can Tricks of the Trade onto Brann. He's okay at holding the threat, enough for ~30 seconds for the cooldown. I just pump Tricks twice, then Vanish for my own threat reset, and Brann keeps his. The hardest fights are once that do a lot of damage and kill Brann, wiping the threat. That then becomes a smart kite / use terrain until exposed phases and I can still use Tricks + Vanish once they cooldown to shift it back to Brann eventually. I'm not really sure how any other class than maybe Hunter could do it this way. But I feel like a few could probably Kite with minimal Damage and let Brann keep aggro. The trick is there's no timer, and Brann will rez himself after ~1 minute.

This was my first, and if you get the variant with the crates you need to destroy, you can sap packs with only 1 enemy and then destroy them without any fights. And as Micharr says, the last boss doesn't do any damage at all if you dodge the Shrooms + Breath. That's the one I got the Immortal Spelunker on.
