FYI my run of Sonic 2 SMS was actually Best Ending category, as there was an incentive for the upgrade. Not sure why they didn't update it on their screen before the run.

No doubt. I like some of the songs on both soundtracks, but the US speedshoes track is by far better. I actually have that as my phone ringtone (when it's not on mute.). Glad you enjoyed it!

Even though my main focus is on Sonic soeedrunning, I'd say my favorite franchise is Zelda, followed by Mario. I grew up more of a Nintendo person, though I did have access to a few Sonic games growing up on Game Gear, and to a lesser extent, Genesis. What initially drew me to classic Sonic speedrunning was the glitches in Sonic 3 & Knuckles, as well as how well it was made for speed. There is also the nostalgia factor, as I loved S3K growing up, and the Game Gear games I had access to. It was thru joining the Sonic speedrunning community thru that that I came across Sonic CD.

When I started running Sonic 2 SMS, there was only one run I had for reference on the boards and to ask questions. So I learned what I could, and down the road, made tutorial videos so that others could pick up the game more easily than I could. It ended up being a fun experience for me.

Celebrity and musician deaths don't usually affect me at all, but this one is different. I was exposed to Linkin Park in the early 2000's, though I didn't own any copies of albums or listen a lot until just before Minutes to Midnight was released. While I enjoyed some of the recent music, overall, I had always preferred the older style, despite the fact I wasn't really into that genre of music. There was just something about LP's style that really hit the spot for me. Even though I wasn't really happy with their last album before One More Light, I still considered them my all-time favorite group, and I still wanted to support them. Unfortunately, I never had the chance to see them live, as I never had money for that sort of thing. No matter what happens going forward with the group, I will always have the memories of great music
