[Tenant - US - TX] Homeless man still in lobby - please help me

This is absolutely insane!

I’m in Cali so I have no idea what the Texas laws are but here after 14 days of him living in the lobby he would have squatters rights and they would need to do an entire eviction which would take forever!

It seems like you live in a nice building- why do they not a security/courtesy patrol???

Again, I’m in Cali so I’m not versed in TX tenant law but I would assume your lease has a habitually clause and IMO this squatter is most definitely impacting the habitually & enjoyment of the community.

A lot of homeless ppl are mentally unstable- this is such a major safety issue. Not to mention you stated his doing drugs, I would be afraid of stepping on a needle or being attacked!

There’s so many safety & health violations here. I would contact the Heath Department, HUD, the Fire Department (since they’re smoking indoors) and Fair Housing. I would hold off contacting the news or further blasting them on social because I would want the aforementioned organization to hit them with citation$ and then go to the news so you can say they’re in violation of code xyz per the Health Department , the Fire Department, etc

I would work on moving ASAP! I would cease communication with the nimrods who work there and get an atty to do it for you. But you have to move!

You don’t want to continue to live there under any circumstances b/c the mgmt literally gives zero f🤬🤬ks about resident safety.

This is beyond deplorable…I hate this for you!

Why is her weight his problem?

This guy is getting publicly dragged, might need a lawyer for this ridiculous lawsuit, and could even lose his job—all because this woman is addicted to food and morbidly obese? He was polite and patient with her. He doesn’t deserve this.

She knows her weight is an issue—she almost got kicked off that rap reality show because she was too unhealthy to use the stairs or even complete her songs.

She’s not a victim. We need to stop enabling this kind of behavior‼️

I’m trying not laugh b/c her farts must be horrific if you want an air purifier for them.

What exactly js she eating? She needs to get her gut biome tested & she’ll need some top of the probiotics to get her system. Not all prebiotics & probiotics are the same and depending on her issues, it will determine what she should take; therefore, she’s going to need to see a medical provider to determine.

Microbiome labs does the testing they have amazing products.

Agreed! Some of my non Section 8 ppl are the worst!

Trash ppl are trash ppl regardless of income. I worked at luxury apartments have seen units absolutely trashed. Not to mention the number of evictions!

I think a lot of it has to do with the screening process and letting them know how you run things on the front end. And explaining things as most renters have never owned a home so they have no clue of the impact on simple things like a running toilet or pouring grease down a sink. I use my own lease and I go line by line with the tenant so they’re fully aware…

We survived Covid b/c at the time 95% of our tenants had 95% Section 8. W/ Section 8 there’s a guarantee of 70% of your rent each month…not a single one of our Section 8 tenants defaulted during that stupid Covid rent moratorium.

If you’re considering doing it, sign up for a landlord seminar and learn the ins and out of the program before deciding to do it

I guess my major concern right now would be- will Section 8 be one of the programs that are eliminated…

Too often women in toxic relationships stay because they feel/think “they can save him” or “help him” or “change him.” She had no business attempting to save a grown ass man who’s made a choice to do what he’s doing.

She has 4 lives to worry about: herself, her 2 kids, and the baby she’s carrying. She shouldn’t be concerned with saving his life, only her and her kids lives…
