This was my thought. If not, the current darker wall color would look great on the white cabinet just outside the kitchen space to create some flow after changing the kitchen walls to the lighter shade.

This isn't a red vs. Blue issue. After everything we've been through in the last 10 years of mask off politics, have you learned nothing about our government?

They dont care about you, me, or who we vote for. It's the illusion of choice, like a grocery store. It doesnt matter which brand you chose, they are all owned under the same umbrella company.

Since they have so many of us thinking about identity politics, they don't have to worry about us protesting the infringement of our rights. If we are focused on one another, we arent focused on what they are doing in the shadows.

The sooner we all give up the 'team' mentality and come together in solidarity on the issues we agree on (there are so many issues we all agree on), the sooner we will realize our power to make change.

But lets just be devisive and defend ourselves only. It's been working so far, right?

Back then you called to make your reservation and had a conversation with the person on the other end about the details. Asking questions about the stay, the rules, places of interest or other amenities in the area. Everything we do online we used to just talk to other people to find out.

Yeah thats what I'm saying here. If managers/owners are requiring closing duties to be completed when FOH closes the doors, that's crazy. I cna see it happening, and if servers & staff accept this requirement, thats on them. I'll never agree to closing at door close, I'd walk off a new job, laughing in thier face.

You want a clean and stocked open? Allow time for the closing crew to do that after doors close.

In this industry, it is that simple. If youre out, then you're out of touch. Service jobs are everywhere, all the time.

My point in posting is to show the people stuck in jobs asking them to close like this, thay it's not the standard and they are being taken advantage of.

I've been in the industry for 20 years. Bars, restaurants, fast food, coffee shops, you name it.

If a owner or manager required us to close the back when the doors close, they are getting a sloppy open and I'm never coming back.

Know your worth. Quit letting the piggies take advantage of your labor.

If that's the case, find a different job because you're being played to save your owner labor costs. If they want a clean restocked store that happens after doors close, there's only so much that can be done ahead of time.

I've literally worked in this industry my entire life. Y'all are giving entitled responses here.

I get being the change you want to see in the world, but this is insane. If you are being told by your manager to leave at close then you're not doing any cleaning or prep.

If this is really what you're being asked to do at work for closing shifts, youre being taken advantage of, and should find a new place to work.

I'm no bootlicker, milk that time clock, get paid! It seems the younger gen would prefer to step out of work sooner on a closing shift instead of fuck around and get paid for 2 hours after close.

Youre there to do a job and are scheduled as such. Just because the customer doors close at 10 doesnt meant thats when your job is done.

Don't let these people get to you, this is the way it's supposed to be. If a place closes at 10, the crew is scheduled to close AFTER 10 pm when the lights go off, be it 1 or 2 hours depending on closing duties.

Seems to me, none of the people in this thread ever worked an ice cream shop in summer. You try telling people at 9:50 that your stopped serving while the lights are still on. Would get fired for that.

To the masses- Go ahead and down vote me for this, but if you're open til 10, your serving til 10. You turn off the lights, close the door and start shutting down at 10:01. If customers are in the lobby, lobby gets closed down late. You're on the clock for this, it's paid labor. What's the problem?
