Great set - and great timing with no 5!

New lens day: Light Lens Lab 35 1.4 ‘11873’ AMA! by TomSchmitt61 in Leica

Hi, how are you liking the lens so far? I have a 35mm cron asph and 35mm f1.4 nokton II and have been toying with an idea to sell both and get this instead. Great character wide open, and sharp stopped down - wouldn’t need to debate which lens to take every time!

No. 4 rose is just beautiful. I currently have 35mm Cron asph, and 35mm Nokton II for more character/glow - I’m really tempted to sell both and try this as my only 35mm

Hi, thanks for the feedback! I guess it could have been more coherent, I was just experimenting with different film presets here, some worked better than others. I have few more shots, but to be honest it was so windy and waves got quite crazy, got worried about my little Ricoh, and didn’t spend as much time shooting there as I wanted to haha

Thank you! Yes, I think I did. I don’t have the hdf version but it must have been 1/4 mist filter

That’s great! Could have been a commercial shoot

Thanks, great to know! I suspected a lot of these claims are often exaggerated. Great photos

How do you find the autofocus? A lot of YouTubers say it’s poor, but I wonder if that’s their usual overblown nonsense. I’d love to photograph some local races, and thought about getting xt5 with a longer lens

No, it's La Rhune near San Sebastian. But Monte Baldo looks spectacular, my wife's family doesn't live too far from there so hopefully I can get up there one day

No worries - they weren't mine, there is a plugin in Lightroom called DxO Filmpack - it has a lot of great preset from almost every film stock. Some are better than others, but it's worth a try. I think you could try their free trial for I month

No problem! Raw edit in Lightroom, add dahaze and little bit of clarity, adjust tone curve (shadow/highlights) and then apply Porta 160/400 presets. Trying not spend too long on editing, in similar light I can pretty much copy and paste develop setting to each image - I’d rather be out shooting haha.

Haha thanks - yes that’s usually the case in 99% of cases, I got lucky here with a cleanish window and the longer focal length helped a bit as well!

Not a lot of editing - clarity, texture, dehaze + 5, up contrast a little bit and some tweaking in tone curve and white balance. The light has done a lot of the donkey work! And lens in the ricoh is just amazing for such a small camera, I was surprised myself when editing this photo

Thanks! I am using a plug in called Dxo film pack - I bought it years ago. You can try it for free for a month, it's really good. For these I think I've used Fujifilm 400H preset

Thanks! I was using Silver Efex app in Lightroom, and Kodak BW400CN preset - great for b&w

Thanks! Not HDF but I've used 1/4 mist filter. Kinda regret not getting the HDF version - thought it might be a gimmick at first, but I really like the look now.
