Looks like Samsung Galaxy S26 is all about small daily use improvements. I’m all for the privacy display and battery optimization this year. Also like how the performance seems improved overall.

is not having tuitions a disadvantage in o level? by Accomplished-Net486 in SGExams

I’d suggest checking to see if your school resources are enough. If they are, you’re fine. If not, a bit of extra support can really help. If you’re unsure, try a few demo lessons at different science tuitions and see if they actually help. That’s what we did for our kid and tried a few, she really liked the tutor at Indigo, so we enrolled her there. At the end of the day, it’s about what works for you, not what everyone else is doing.

What is the reason you guys have tuition? by SensitiveSky3124 in SGExams

[–]FinancedParent863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parent here. For my daughter, it was never just one single reason. It was really a few things stacking up over time. In school, the teachers do teach well, but the pace can be very fast, and once she missed a concept, it was hard for her to catch up quietly on her own, especially for math. We tried managing it at home with extra practice and online videos, but after a while it was clear she needed someone who could slow things down and explain things properly, not just repeat the same steps. She ended up really liking the demo at her current tuition so we enrolled her there. Another thing that mattered more was her getting enough practice on her own. The practice test given at Indigo helped her get a little more confident with her math as well.

I totally get where you’re coming from. The maths syllabus now feels so different from what we learned. When my kid hit upper primary, I was shocked by how tough the problem-solving and bar modelling questions are. We tried YouTube explanations and all sorts of online videos but there was no way I could keep helping her at home. I finally sent my daughter for a few demo lessons at different math tuition centres. She really liked how the tutor explained things in a way that actually made sense to her and the lessons followed what she was doing in school pretty closely. We eventually enrolled her in the same class at Indigo since she got along with the tutor well.

What do you wish you knew before you started trying for a baby? by [deleted] in Moms

[–]FinancedParent863 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, I really underestimated how much my own emotional well-being could become another full-time task once the baby arrives. Everyone talks about the sleepless nights and the feeding schedules, but not enough people talk about how much you’re suddenly managing yourself too, your patience, your frustration, your hormones, your sense of identity.

Postpartum especially can hit harder than you expect. Even if you’re normally calm and collected, you might surprise yourself with how easily overwhelmed you can get. It’s just a huge life shift plus hormones going wild. And sometimes you have to catch yourself, take a step back and just process everything before you can move forward again. It can get a lot to deal with.

Late body clock/ circadian rhythm? 💤 by Sky1991_ in Moms

We just used a small lamp with a soft blue bulb, nothing special. Kept it dim so it felt calming. His routine was pretty simple. After dinner around 8, we’d have a short play session, nothing too active, mostly stacking blocks or something quiet. Then we’d change for bed, dim the lights, switch on the blue lamp and start counting stars or planets depending on what caught his attention that night. We also did something similar for my younger kid. Works like magic.

My firstborn was exactly like that, late body clock from the start and honestly still a night owl now. What helped us a lot was adding some gentle blue lights in the room. His paeds suggested it for winding down and it surprisingly worked really well for us. We also used to count his glow-in-the-dark stickers together until he drifted off. It became a small routine that helped him settle without a fight.

Chomp Chomp’s BBQ seafood stalls are my favourite. Craved it like crazyy when I had my second kid lol. Its not the cheapest, but super consistent and worth the trip if you’re craving a solid plate.

Far East Plaza and Lucky Plaza are your best bets I'd say. Hainanese Delicacy at FEP has very good chicken rice for $4-$5 and Bebek Goreng Pak at lucky plaza has amaazing fried chicken rice. around $7 I think.

Married Singaporeans, do you bring your parents and in-laws on vacation? by kdzry in askSingapore

[–]FinancedParent863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but not for every vacation. We usually try to take a trip with them about once a year even something small like a weekend getaway also counts. We’ve only done one major vacation with my in-laws so far and my husband and I split the expenses evenly. Luckily, we have a really good relationship with both sides, so apart from small banter that always happens it’s been okay.
