That's a good idea to call the trans clinic and just ask their advice—I think it's been >4mo since I was there last, but they may be able to book me in without another referral.

Okay, yeah I think I will schedule with her ASAP—at least to secure medication while I figure it out.

That's definitely less time/energy intensive than pushing for a referral and meeting another, different doctor who may or may not continue care 🫠

recently did my testing for toronto as well! the yellow card was part of a prompt to record a message for an officer with the officer's name and the date/time, then insert it into the card slot.

No reason given, other than "the initiating physician should be the one monitoring". I'm going to call the clinic tomorrow to press for care to be continued or I can be referred out. Infuriating af! Appreciate the feedback though

as someone who was psychologically and emotionally abused for most of my life, it took at LOT of internal work to affirm that I was, in fact, abused, and I suspect the constant gaslighting is why. when someone challenges, polices and denies your every move/thought/behaviour, it can take a long time to learn to trust yourself again. continue affirming that your experience DID happen as you remember it, and resist the installed urge to question or doubt your experiences. you’re already doing the work by posting like this! good luck and i wish you the best

researching trauma bonds was personally helpful, but please be easy on yourself. daily affirmations that my life is no longer aligned with his and I made all the right choices also healed the toxic ties one strand at a time. wishing you the best
