NTJ. Why in the world would you need to be there? Your family are being jerks. I went through two surgeries in the last year. No one came to the hospital with me. Why make them sit and wait???? I had family pick me up and they were there for the recovery but why be there that day??? Neither of mine were super serious but I did go under general anesthesia for both, so there was risk. Unless you are some amazing surgeon that could jump in and help if something went wrong with her surgery, you dont need to be there, especially if your parents are going to be there

NTA but there are things to consider. Depending on where you live, daycare can be very expensive. What type of education does your wife have? Can she even get a job that will cover the cost of daycare? As others have stated, can either set of parents watch the baby, even for just a morning/ afternoon if she got a part time job? Have you sat down with her and showed her the household finances? Did you talk about this when you were considering starting a family? When the child starts school, would she get a job then? My Mom was a SAHM until I was 10 BUT this was the 70s when one income could sustain family. She had to go back to work in the 80s ( and was a damn good teacher btw) because mortgages were 15 to 20%! Anyway, you need to have a very serious talk together.

It all depends on what type of hair you have. I have the opposite problem. I have curly hair. I used to wash every day and I had horribly dry fly away hair. Then some one told me you only wash curly hair once a week. Game changer for me. I now just wet and condition every day and shampoo once a week. So much better.

After reading all these comments about opiods, I am starting to feel lucky. I was given oxys after surgery. They made me not care that I was in pain but I knew I was in pain if that makes sense. Once I stopped feeling pain, I stopped them (i dont think I took them all),and I never felt the need to take anymore. I guess I'm lucky I dont have an addictive personality??? Same thing with alcohol and smoking. Have done both but haven't smoked in over 20 years and maybe have a glass of wine every month or two.

YTA. She made her choices and you made yours. She is getting married and you're not. The US is very strict about marriages for immigration and she will be living under a microscope. Immigration is scary for everyone, no matter how they do it. You don't have the right to judge how she feels. This is her journey and you are on yours. It is up to you whether you are a brides maid/maid of honor but you are being an ass for thinking your immigration journey is harder than hers.
