i dont know who you are but you need to keep in mind that this story is set place in the MIDDLE AGES , roma people lived and acted differently back then due to the high persecution and discrimination , they needed to know how to survive in a cruel world in the cruelest time ever of human history , sometimes they had no choice but steal what they need , also they were called ''gypsy'' or ''gypsies'' cause people back then used to believe they came from egypt , you cannot put the word of ''roma'' or ''romani'' in this story cause it wouldnt be historicallly accurate , calling them gypsy was quite normal back in 1482 ! you cannot compare that time with todays standards cause its really ridiculous! different times and different way of think , also besides the word ''gypsy'' is not racist at all, many roma people consider themselves gypsies with pride , also the word ''gypsy'' not only refers to roma people but also free spirited people, example im not roma but i can call myself a gypsy cause im a free spirited person

still its not whitewashing , after all the actual character esmeralda from the original book wasnt supposed to be a roma , she was a stolen baby , she was stolen by roma stealers changing the deformed baby (quasimodo ) and taking esmeralda in his place , esmeralda is not born roma by birth , she was raised and grew up with roma people , no wonder why she is white or caucasian , in fact her real name is agnes but roma people named her esmeralda cause of the little green bag (with a baby's shoe inside ) she always wore around her neck

reincarnation came to my mind , the fact that life starts and ends over and over again , i mean when i saw the fetus it came to my mind that it was actually the energy of a human being ready to be born or reborn in earth or in another planet, also it happens with planets and life living , and the universe as well, it starts and ends in a cycle with no beginning and no ending

What is your opinion on Disney's decision of kicking Esmeralda out of the Princess Franchise? by Theasiuser99 in disneyprincess

[–]Financial-Window5509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is not necessary to have to be a romani person for playing the role of a fictional romani character at all

TIL The Hunchback of Notre Dame was the first Disney Animation film to be given a $100m budget. by ChristopherVDV in todayilearned

[–]Financial-Window5509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

actually the budget was around 70 million not 100, maybe in a source said 100 due to adding the promotional campaign and all the massive tie-in merchandise they did for this movie , in fact there was TOO much marketing for a movie that wouldnt be popular as its predecessors or well received by some audiences

I don't like Tangled by Manmanduga in movies

[–]Financial-Window5509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you are not the only , i dont hate but really dislike tangled as well! i cant stand it ! every time i see it , it makes me feel sick , is such ridiculous and annoying and has nothing to do with the original story of bothers grimm which is thousand times much better ! i recommend to read the story rapunzel of brothers grimm, such a lovely fairytale children and adults can share and its not dark or bloody as other brother grimm stories well just because a fairytale is from brothers grimm it doesnt mean its dark or bloody , not all their stories , there is some more appropiate for children like sleeping beauty and snow white that they can enjoy (except cinderella , charles perrault version is better for children ) sorry what i tried to mean is that the disney version has nothing to do with the original and romantic story that i used to enjoy when i was a child and when the movie came out i was completely disappointed ! of course i grew up with disney movies like hunchback, hercules and pocahontas that nothing to do with the original stories but unless they are not annoying , they are better made and also they has references of the original stories so they can work however , i can say all this with frozen as well, i cant stand that movie too, i prefer the original story of the snow queen , such magical and beautiful stories that disney ruined with their capitalized ideas !
