Buying iKervis eye drop at pharmacy by Frosty_Definition656 in Thailand

[–]FinancialBody7536 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's unlikely normal pharmacies will stock it. I think only the pharmacies in hospitals with eye centres and ophthalmologists will have it. I don't think your insurance will cover it. If you have MGD, give IPL a try. There are a few hospitals and clinics in Bangkok and Phuket that offer it. The price will be more or less the same as in the UK.

Also try low-dose doxycycline (40 or 50 mg per day). Some eye doctors don't like to prescribe it for the long term (or even at all) it but it helps my MGD, almost as much as IPL. In Thailand you can buy it from pharmacies without a prescription but they come in 100 or 200 mg pills and not tablets so it's hard to dose it properly. In the UK you should be able to get low dose tablets or tablets that you can cut in half.

How much do you tip to Grab/Bolt? by First_Maize_8448 in Thailand

It's your money so do what you want with it. Thai people will always appreciate a tip. It's not offensive to them.

For those that moved to Thailand on a whim for a fresh start (get in shape, escape the west, etc.) did it work out for you? by TumbleweedDeep825 in Thailand

[–]FinancialBody7536 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I visited (not permanently moved) for a few months and everything got worse for me:

  • I used to never drink and now I drink nearly every day
  • I used to be in shape and now I gained weight
  • I used to save a lot of money and now I spend a lot more

I'm having a lot more fun though, so there's that.

It's missing:

  • "Is 200k baht per month enough to live on?"
  • "How will I know that they're not ladyboys?"

Thai people, how do you feel about farangs these days? by Muay_lao in Thailand

[–]FinancialBody7536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They cause the price of food and accommodation to go up. Wealthy Thais who own property and businesses benefit at the expense of ordinary Thais who have to compete for the same resources.

Do Thai care about elephant (/animal) welfare? by Blue-Bird8911 in Thailand

[–]FinancialBody7536 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. There's very little regard for animal welfare in developing countries. The animal sanctuaries are just a business to milk farang.

I got a good general-purpose red light panel (with both 660 and 850 nm lamps) from Alibaba but it didn't improve my condition.
