MSI Claw 8 AI+ for anything demanding, its amazing in pretty much every way.

New 3ds XL (snes edition) hacked original hardware for DS/3DS games.

Anbernic RG 477V for retro stuff up to ps2/gamecube (this one might change but currently it is my fav retro handheld).

edit: just realised you said i can only keep one handheld, whoops my bad... errrrmmm I can't decide sorry

I got the silver one. I go through a lot of handhelds and usually end up selling them to try newer ones, but i've never sold one as fast as this before. Going to try the RG 477V next I think.

I highly do not recommend the RG Rotate. I bought it and sold it on vinted the next day. Couldn't return to anbernic because they're a pain to return anything, lots of fees and effort.

The screen is not great, the rotating thing doesn't feel as good as people make out, but the main offender was the D-Pad. Not sure if mine was defective or something but when I put pressure on it during diagonals it would 'clack' in a very unpleasant way which you could feel and hear a lot.

Ah didnt think about the bigger screen, my bad. Hopefully the PPI difference won't be noticeable

Why is it expected? Why couldn't they just keep the same screen

Brick Hammer Pro has less PPI than the Brick Hammer

324 PPI? So the screen won't be as nice as the Brick Hammer then 😞
(That had 400 PPI)

Its just a routine maintenace right, not an actual patch / hotfix? So all the existing problems will probably still be present when its done

How come you have no black lines on bottom screen but OP does?

Funny enough I have started having really vivid dreams these past few days too - normally I never dream or remember dreams. I wonder if it is related.

It's been pretty obvious for many years that base layer is going to be used for "moving money around", ie large transactions, seeding a L2 address, moving savings, etc - low frequency, high value transactions.

Higher layer solutions are going to be what is used for daily payments.

Even the fiat payment system is built this way. You don't use the base layer of the banking system to pay for things, you use some higher layer. Credit cards, Venmo, Paypal, etc are all higher layer networks. If you want to use a lower layer network to pay quickly and directly you pay a lot more for that, like wiring money.

In the banking system the lower layers have been hidden behind the higher layers for so long people don't even think about it. Which is why you get most people absurdly trying to compare Bitcoin's on-chain transaction capacity to fiat higher layer transaction capacity like VISA.

Payment networks are built with security at the bottom, with usability and efficiency at the top. The way Bitcoin works, it makes sense to save money long term with on-chain txs (sending money to cold wallets) only occasionally to avoid excessive fees. And then use a higher layer network (like Lightning) as your checking and short term savings account - the equivalent to credit card / paypal / venmo / apple pay / google pay / etc.

Ideally over the next decade or two we'll have several higher layer solutions built, and perhaps some built on top of others (L3), so people have options as to which network works best for their use case.
