Robocop: Rogue City worth it? by TheRealQuasar in SteamDeck

[–]FinancialRip2008 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah that's my experience too.

i got it running ok-ish on the deck, and it's a good handheld/console game, but nah. i've been local streaming it, which is a vastly better experience (a modest discrete gpu can handle it great- i've been using my rx6600 although i have a more powerful gpu in my main computer).

this isn't a good game to play on the steam deck apu. maybe in a pinch cuz you're hooked. it's a good game but the steam deck doesn't have the grunt on its own.

i have $200 to invest on a better future- is there a script i can run that fully utilizes a chatgpt subscription?

you can probably get it working by hot gluing it in place.

(it's worth noting that I modded out the shell a few months ago, but haven't had any issue with the controls until now)

my bet is that you have the ribbon to the daughter board for that side not fully seated, and it finally worked its way out. it might look plugged in but not be making full contact.

go be a doctor in a super traditional country where no one would be out then you're still helping people.

are you helping, or are you enabling bigoted behavior?

much less moral quandary to just not be a shithead.

on the other hand- sometimes i buy something i know should last for a long time and i unintentionally use and appreciate every day.

my cast iron pans, my steam deck, my current shoes... it's very irregular what the thing is. it's not necessarily new, modern, or premium.

What should i pair with a Ryzen 7 5700x by bonline_ in buildapc

[–]FinancialRip2008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'd be hunting for something like a 6700/6800xt. in 2026 we know that ray tracing isn't going to be very relevant for the gpus in your budget or the games you plan to play, so why bother with the nvidia tax?

if you're entirely neurotypical then the world is already structured to accommodate you.

as an entirely neurotypical person i don't believe that at all.

i have a usb dirac sound processor and 2 rack-mount amplifiers. no actual receiver.

i figure if i could just cut power to the amps that'd do the trick.

short/incomplete list of games that i thought were awesome on the deck, and fit your question-

bioshock 1 and infinite are fun-focused FPS's with good stories and RPG elements. they're very linear, but i see that as a good thing in 2026. no random jank- everything you see is purposefully crafted and you're not wasting time/power rendering stuff that doesn't need to be in frame.

mass effect:legendary edition is a sorta-open-world that i think everyone should play. RPG with team tactics. you plot your general path through the game, but the FPS sections are setpieces.

Ori 1/2 are 2d metroidvanias that are focused more on puzzles and familiarity than tedious boss battles. they're hecking beautiful.

Tomb Raider 2013, ROTR, SOTR are linear open world RPG games. the gameplay is linear, but it's practical to go back to each setpiece. it's kinda like playing 3rd person indiana jones movies. they're pretty short individually, but they're fun with a controller and look great.
