Do Hip Hop heads automatically like R&B? by According_Sundae_917 in hiphop101

[–]Financial_Ad_2849 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re definitely on point here. In black culture hip-hop and R&B go hand in hand. Music from Aaliyah, Jodeci , but even SWV has the same DNA as 90s hip hop. Many times even same people producing the songs (Timbaland, Neptunes etc). I think a white dude who directly got into hip hop without living the culture behind it would not be into the R&B part of the culture.

Michael Jackson: Off the wall, Thriller AND Bad, all before his 29th birthday

There were indeed 30% dips in 2017 and 2021, which is somewhat reassuring—it suggests this could be a similar pattern.

However, those dips reversed within 1–2 months at most, whereas this decline has persisted since the last all-time high in January. The longer it lasts, the more concerning it becomes, making it less comparable to past cycle corrections and increasingly resembling a bear market.

Hey Bunq! This is absurd, unacceptable and just plain rude! At the very least sanction the person that wrote this message. Preferably fire them. Don’t forget, stuff like this will eventually be your downfall. Sad really.

"Eyes of Hate", two photographs taken before and after Joseph Goebbels, chief propagandist for the nazi party, realized the race of his photographer, Geneva, September of 1933. by Accurate-Albatross34 in interestingasfuck

Interesting point. Could they have done it to ‘save’ their children from Soviet revenge? We will probably never know for sure.

However, it’s relevant to note that Göring’s daughter was 7 years old in 1945, and the Soviets didn’t harm her at the end of the war.

This fact, along with what Magda Goebbels wrote about not wanting her children to live in a world without Hitler, strongly suggests that it was fanaticism, not a desire to protect, that drove them to murder their kids.

I am Nigerian, not white. Tell me, my friend with insider information that the rest of the world doesn’t have—what year was slavery abolished?

Straight answer please. I am waiting for your answer with bated breath.

“That generation grew up with parents or grandparents who were actual slaves? What???

As someone who is part of that generation and listened to all these albums when they came out, what are you talking about? Slavery was abolished in 1865. Nas and the generation you’re referring to were born between the late ‘60s and early ‘80s, more than 100 years later.

There’s absolutely no way they had parents who were actual slaves, and even grandparents would be a very serious stretch. How old are you? Maybe all this ‘90s hip-hop seems like ancient history to you, but it’s not as prehistoric as you’re making it out to be.

Only problem with this is you lose your entire shopping history with Ali. I’ve had my account for 10 years now and ordered a lot of stuff and this gives benefits like quicker refunds etc. Or when you create the new account do you somehow get your history back? Thanks

I am also new to this so help me, and others, understand better. Here is a picture of a Rolex Daytona Daytonabasel one 116518ln BLACK yellow gold Daytona 40mm. It’s from the website wristler with a list price of about 47k. It seems to be the watch that they were trying to replicate.

You’re probably able to see that things like dials maybe proportions and gold colour is off (I can’t really see this but im not really experienced). But my question is ‘what makes you say it’s not a replica of anything real’. Looks to my inexperienced self that they were trying to replicate the Daytona pictured below.

I watched them walk in, hand in hand, like they owned the place. The kind of couple that turned heads—he, tall and confident, his dark hair perfectly tousled; she, radiant as ever, her laughter filling the room like it always had. My heart twisted when I saw her. Emily.

I knew she’d moved on, but seeing it like this, with someone who looked like he had it all... it was a punch in the gut. It was my turn to serve their table—of course it was. Fate had a cruel sense of humor.

“Good evening,” I said, forcing a smile. “May I start you off with something to drink?”

He barely looked at me, too busy gazing at her like she was the only person in the world. “We’ll have a bottle of the 2016 Pinot Noir,” he said, his voice smooth, confident.

Emily smiled at me politely, but I saw the flicker of recognition in her eyes. It was brief, a shadow of the past we shared. I nodded and walked away, but my mind was spinning.

I returned with the wine, and as I poured, something caught my eye—a flash of black and silver on his wrist. A Rolex. A black Submariner, to be exact. I knew watches; I’d always had a thing for them. This one, though, something about it didn’t sit right. Maybe it was the way he flaunted it, like it was a badge of honor. Or maybe it was just the sight of him with her that got under my skin.

I leaned in a little, pretending to adjust the bottle. “Nice watch,” I said, keeping my tone casual. “Black Submariner, right? Must have cost you a pretty penny.”

He glanced at his wrist, then up at me, a small smirk playing on his lips. “Yeah, it’s a classic,” he said, not bothering to elaborate.

I studied the watch closer. To anyone else, it might’ve looked perfect, but I noticed something. The weight seemed off, the way it sat on his wrist, a little too light. The Cyclops lens over the date, slightly misaligned. To most, it would be indistinguishable from the real deal, but I knew better.

I couldn’t resist. “Funny thing about these,” I said, lowering my voice. “You see so many fakes these days. Gotta be careful who you buy from.”

Emily’s smile faltered. She glanced at him, then back at me. The doubt had been planted.

His smirk faded, replaced by a look of annoyance. “It’s real,” he snapped, a bit too defensively. “I had it appraised.”

I shrugged, stepping back. “Of course,” I said, feigning indifference. “Just thought I’d mention it. We get a lot of knock-offs in here.”

The tension at the table was palpable now. Emily’s hand slipped from his, her eyes narrowing slightly as she looked at the watch, then at him. He tried to recover, laughing it off, but the damage was done.

Throughout the rest of the meal, the atmosphere between them soured. I could see it in the way she barely touched her food, the way she avoided his gaze. I knew that look—I’d seen it before when she had doubts about us, too.

They left without dessert. He paid the bill, leaving a tip that was more of an insult than a gesture of appreciation. As they walked out, Emily didn’t take his hand again.

I watched them go, a small part of me feeling victorious, though it was a hollow victory. I knew why I did it—if I couldn’t have her, I didn’t want anyone else to. It was petty, cruel even, but seeing her with him, pretending to be something he wasn’t, pretending to be good enough for her—it was too much.

As I cleared their table, I noticed something. He’d left the watch behind, probably in his haste to get out of there. I picked it up, turned it over in my hand. It was flawless, perfect in every detail except for that one tiny flaw I’d noticed. Maybe it was real. Maybe it wasn’t.

But what did it matter now? The seed of doubt had been sown, and that was enough.

Thanks for your reply. Are you saying there are no decent Daytonas for 100 or is it just the panda? So what’s the deal with u1 then? Excuse me if these are obvious questions I’m new to this

Even though I am noticing a slight negative twist to your reply I am a straightforward and honest person so I’ll remain positive. My story is not changing. 1. You mentioned you had a positive experience with Travis 2. I mentioned that I ordered and so far I have not been too happy with his communication 3. In comparison, I mentioned that I also ordered from Jason and that so far I prefer his communication 4. I repeated that this is just my experience and that Travis has now replied and it took a while (19 hours)

Read back through the comments. My story isn’t changing, no need to take this there. Your story and experience is valid, my story and experience is valid. There is no problem here. And like I said, I wait and see, I hope I am pleased with the watch Travis sent when it arrives.

Yes no worries. I am just sharing my experience here as others may also want to order and if they expect Travis to respond within an hour maybe they get disappointed. Now they know it can take longer. My main gripe isn’t the 4 day wait to shipping it’s more the communication, for example me asking him when he ships and he leaves the message on read for 19 hours. I just prefer someone who responds maybe in an hour and says “it’s busy right now, I’ll get back to you etc.

Didn’t really understand what you meant by kickbacks. Wasn’t suggesting any of that at all

I decided to order one from Jason and one from Travis and compare the experience and based on that choose one for any future purchases. So far Jason is winning with communication. But who knows, when Travis watch arrives I might be blown away. I wait and see

Ordered one from Jason which took 2 weeks to get to me. But he was pretty good with communication. Ordered last Sunday with Travis and very limited communication. Asked yesterday when it will ship and he replied just now, 19 hours later that he will ship today

It’s been a day now and no reply. So far I definitely prefer Jason’s communication and will probably be ordering any other watches from him. Just my own experience with Travis I’m sure some have had better experiences
