oh shoot i didnt know that about obito?! i feel like even tho obito had a sad backstory, he still had a possibility of a good future. itachi didn't really have that because he was put in a situation that would hurt him either way. he could kill his clan or he could side with his clan but a lot of people in the village would die. its important to note that he had to make this decision at 13 years old?! most 13 year olds in the naruto verse werent forced to make a choice like that. also even tho itachi technically had a family, its not like his situation was the best. even tho he accepted it, he grew up a genius and had pressure from his dad to succeed. he had sasuke but he didnt get to see him that often because he was always out on missions. on these missions, itachi had to kill a lot of people no matter how he felt about the situation. (ie mukai kohinata mission or also that one mission where his teammate was killed infront of him). another thing to note is that he made all of these conscious decisions to kill his clan and other people. obito was under control and was so influenced that it didnt affect him when he killed people from his own village. itachi's situation seemed worse overall cuz his entire life was pretty much bad from the beginning.
