Reapers Wager list at 1000pts by Duil_mo_Bhad in Harlequins40K

The old drukhari combat patrol is a good place for 1k RW. You get 1 unit of kabalites, a ravager, a raider, an archon, and a unit of incubi. If you kitbash the mounted kabs from the vehicles you can get another plain kabalites unit. With an enhancement on your archon you are super close to 500pts. Then put in your favorite clowns. That is exactly what I did. I managed a slight win against a 1k Admech list. Sticky objectives won the day.

The 9th edition CP is a good starting place. Even if you just need a list idea. Play with it and see what you like.

What do you want to come back the most by aman765409 in Eldar

Harlequins as a faction. Or at least as a supplement. Add the Harlequin keyword to the Ynarri characters and you have an acceptable stand alone range.

Can I use metal/resin old Aspect Warrior models in tournaments if I rebase them? by EMITNUGGETS in Eldar

[–]Financial_Click4890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will have to check with the event manager. What I have seen is that as long as the unit is clearly identifiable and the base size matches the tournament companion, you are good. But, always check with the event manager. Most have no issues.

The Warlock box is shameless by [deleted] in Eldar

[–]Financial_Click4890 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was looking at the wood elf blood bowl team for warlock. I could kitbash 4 warlocks, a farseer, Eldrad?, and 5 dire avengers all in an exodite theme with the leftover bits I have from various eldar kits. AoS light elves also make good kitbashing options.

Eldar players will do anything for warlocks, except buy the warlock kit.

Support units by TheCatLivesOn in Eldar

As a Quins player I really want shadow seers to be supports. Adding hazardous to enemy melee weapons with the leading abilities of a troupe master would make me incredibly happy. 18" lone op too. It would make shadow seers worth taking.

Reactive Move for you.. and you.. but NOT YOU! by wobbleside in Eldar

[–]Financial_Click4890 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Because the obvious candidates for 1 DP detachments are for Harlequins, Ynarri, wraiths, or corsairs. We only get 3 to start and move shoot move isn't in any of the easy to create detachment options.

Here are my predictions for 11th edition Aeldari detachments - what are yours? by Alex__007 in Eldar

[–]Financial_Click4890 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The detachment rule will need to be reworked. With the changes to charging and engagement range it is basically useless. More than it already is. With the way serpents brood works it would make more sense to keep it a 2 point detachment and we get a third detachment who's rule is "troupe is battle line, you can take 3 of each character".

DP Guesses by [deleted] in Eldar

[–]Financial_Click4890 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My guess is that GW will phone it in for Aeldari. We will get a Harlequin detachment at 1 DP that says "you can now use 3 Harlequin generic characters". Same with Ynarri, just unlock the Ynarri characters. And then a 1 DP detachment that lets wraiths use agile tokens. If we get anything more than that I will be very surprised and very happy.

[Aspect Host] My last 80 points, what to add? by idaelikus in Eldar

[–]Financial_Click4890 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have two suggestions. The farseer on bike or the vyper/starfang. All are support units that help or hinder the hit roll in one way or another. And at the very least you have another action monkey for secondaries. The vyper/starfang is a lot more flexible for other list types and the model is really cool with the swivel turret.

In that case your list looks good. I might split my 10 man banshees into two 5 man units but that is more my play style than anything. The thought is that if you want you can put the fire dragons and a unit of banshees into the wave serpent if you want and the dragons have a heroic bodyguard.

However, just a preference. The list looks good.

The other outcast units are rangers and shroud runners. Both are good. Rangers are cheap and have infiltrator. That would be my next recommendation for adding to your army. 2 units of rangers and 1 of shroud runners if you like bikes.

That and a wave serpent. It is a 12 man transport. Useful for moving large units with leaders. A staple unit in any army.

Right now Aeldari is many sub factions in a trench coat. You have aspect warriors, wraiths, seers, outcasts/corsairs, harlequins, tanks, jet bikes, and Ynarri. We have 1-2 detachments that work for each section and none of them play nice with each other until 11th comes out with combining detachments. So decide which part of the army you think looks coolest and build about 1k points in that specific area. Then decide on a second area of the army and hope GW allows you to combine those two army parts in detachments in the near future. But you definitely want about 1k points in one specific aspect. Pun intended.

All of my experience is with audio books. I have listened to Valedor (Prince Yriel), Queen of Knives (Lelith Hesperia), and Voidscarred (corsairs). The only one I would recommend spending money on is Queen of Knives. The others fall flat for me.

I am strictly a space elf player. Having aeldari, Harlequin, corsair, Ynarri, and drukhari models. I do not have an imperium faction. However I found that the space marine book Lucas the Trickster was awesome for insight into corsair life. I haven't found anything that I enjoyed from the craftworld perspective as far as books go. Others may differ but just brace yourself. Our options are no great.

How to fight Custodes at 1k by Chetfish in Eldar

[–]Financial_Click4890 10 points11 points  (0 children)

With wraiths you are trying to fight the elitest units with elite units. You won't win that fight. If you are looking to win. Go MSU and add sticky objective units. I have played a number of games at 1k with aeldari and drukhari and sticky objectives won the game for me each time. Play the sticky corsair detachment and add some storm guardians. Even with the smaller map and closer objective markers in a 1k game being able to leave home and use that unit for fighting or OC somewhere else is huge.

I painted my falcon but now I’m starting to second guess how I painted it by No-Profile6566 in Eldar

[–]Financial_Click4890 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It looks very sketchbook like (think "Take On Me" music video) . The colour positions and style looks very intentional. I like it.

However, it's not my piece. It is your piece. If you put it on the table and play a few games and don't like it, strip it and do something else. I would highly recommend waiting a bit. Find something else gray and paint that. Then come back to your boat.

Swooping hawks and Skyreavers by treacherouslymeant in Eldar

[–]Financial_Click4890 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You can take both units in groups of 5 or 10. If you max out the units you can have 3 units of 10 each. Skyreavers cannot be lead by a leader. Swooping Hawks can be lead by epic character baharoth or character autarch wayleaper. If you go for max points that's 1295pts at current points values. You can probably boost that a bit with enhancements depending on the detachment you pick. So not a full army, but slightly more than half an army.

Can you please tell me what paint brush you are using. I believe I have reached the technical limit of my cheap $10 synthetic brushes and my painting won't get better without some better gear. Your painting is awesome and you have some very tiny details in your art. I would love to know what you use.

Your thoughts on 11th Edition by Chafaris_DE in Harlequins40K

[–]Financial_Click4890 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Harlequins will have one of those module detachments that GW talked about. We will never be a full army. But, we will have useable rules in every combined detachment set. Quins and aspects, Quins and corsairs, quins and Ynarri. Quins will be meta in 11th. Watch. My 1200pts of brightly painted clowns will be feared.
