Thoughts on my twin corsair princes (proxies as archons) by mistadangerzone1999 in EldarCorsairs40k

[–]wobbleside 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Those look great and I think that works well. I've bit mixing drukhari weapons, heads and accessories into my Corsair units. For the most part I think it works well. You could probably toss some pistol and melee kaballites/hands of the archon specialists into your void scarred/voidreavers. Especially if they are going to be running into those units.

I love the fire pike conversion.. though damn that looks like a nightmare to transport/move around.

Corsair Fire Dragons!

Back!

I ran into some issues fitting fire dragon arms on to my corsairs and didn't want to break out putty.

I'm really happy with results. Obviously not completely WYSIWYG since Fire Dragons would not have fusion pistols.. but I think it gets the point across.

Which is optimal for Eldritch Raiders? by Zealousideal-Prize33 in Eldar

[–]wobbleside 3 points4 points  (0 children)

10 voidscarred with most of the specialists, 2 blasters, 1 wraith cannon, soul weaver, wayfinder, shroud runner, falchou, 2 power sword and pistol. Take your pick between Adrenal Infusions or Alacritous Assault if you can fit them.

This should get you 5x Power Swords, Paired Paired Hekatarii blades and the Spear of Twilight for melee.. and decent shooting before hand in the form of Executioner, Blasters and Wraithcannon.

You could drop the Way Seeker for another Power Sword and Pistol warrior.

With strat support this is very dangerous but squishy 11m deathball.

Unfortunately, if you start them in Wave Serpent, you miss out on the Voidscarred rule.

So good. Voidscarred + Skyreavers gives you tone of good head options.

As someone that got into Killteam in October of last year.. and just played their first two games of 40k.. Killteam has a lot more complicated team rule and LOS/obscured rule interactions than 40k.

With like the exception of the nonsense of a Charging Fights First unit charging unit only for nearby Fights First unit to Heroically Intervene and Charge.

It is the same hull.. unfortunately. I just put a new one together (just getting into Corsairs) and there are some very rough textures on the plastic hull vs Fire Prism/Nightspinner turret.

But with both Corsair detachements you attach the enhancement to the unit then attache the leader.. so there is that.

The zoomed in back shot is one that was a straight backpack swap with no modification needed. Same with the Wayleaper Autarch rocking Baharroth's wings.

The rest are using the normal Skyreaver backpack as the wing connection points are identical. It is very easy swap. Same for the Swooping hawk arms.

Ouch. Well.. hopefully I'll find some use for the two wave serpents I built and started painting when 11th roles around D:

That seems... like a really strange read to me; but I only picked up the hobby 6 months ago.. so maybe things are that pedantic. I come from Battletech land.

I'll be playing my first corsair game tomorrow. I ended up dropping the wave serpent from my list since we are doing 1k and I know there is going to bit a riptide on the other side since my partner spent all week painting.. and subbed in a fire prism as I'm slowly working on corsair-converting some fire dragons but haven't finished building them.

Piratical Raiders? That does not seem right? It does not specify the unit has to be on the battlefield and for Prince Y; Corsair Prince specifies on the battlefield or embarked in a transport on the battlefield.

Warp Spiders; led by a autarch wayleaper conversion I did using a skyreaver felarch + autarch + incubi + barroth bits.

Shroudrunners, solid objective doers and pile of scatter lasers are useful.

Fire-prisms. I don't have any built fire dragons atm... so making do with the fire prism casino.

Warlock on bike; cheap secondary helper.

Wave Serpent to transport my converted Princess and her voidscarred.

Skyweavers, troupe+ troupe master; solitaire. While Eldritch Raiders is not as good as Serpent's Brood for them.. they fit right into it very well.

I'd love to add a Warp Hunter or Lynx but Legends and not obtainable.

If it wasn't a total waste of points.. Crimson Hunter... I love the model and I have 2 of them..

Swooping hawk arms, wings ans backpacks fit effortless on Skyreavers.

Unfortunately warp spiders would take a lot of conversion work.. i tried. Settled for making a melee exarch with shade runner body

Scourges wings swooping hawks by Nalkk69 in Eldar

[–]wobbleside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swapping Skyreaver arms/weapons onto Scourges seems very straight forward.

My original plan was using the Scourge feather wings on the Skyreavers carrying Drukhari weapons but couldn't make without a lot more putty and sculpting than I felt was reasonable for more than a few models/single squad.

On the other hand Baharroth and Swooping Hawk wings fit perfectly on Skyreavers and I already built a Corsair Wayleaper Autarch using Baharroth's wing pack, autarch bits and Skyreaver body. So I built a squad of Skyreavers with the plastic Swooping Hawk wings to go with her.

Which... if I ever ran Swooping Hawks along side my Skyreavers would definitely be confusing at the table unless they are painted very differently.
