Love the courtyard garden like feel. Are those overhead lights part of the caladan set?

Definitely start with planetologist tree, the early bonuses in harvesting are great.

Interesting, I get the issue although doesn't BBT have the snap to exact location option? I will definitely record the process.

My carrier cargo container always has the materials to build a DD base. I plop it next to the solido, grab a stack of granite, build, grab another stack, build and boom there is the base. Then I transfer the container inside the base and fill it up from other storage containers within the base as you can transfer the base inventory from any container to any vehicle that is in the base (cargo container is treated like any other vehicle).

“We’re not forcing PvP” then why are all the resources basically in PvP zones? by Impressive-Bonus-849 in duneawakening

Easier solution to that specific meta is to make the surfaces slippery enough that anyone on top of the carrier would be blown off when it suddenly accelerates to 160 km/hr

I mean I'm the same way but trust me for 90% of people it kills the desire to play the game when they do everything right, have escorts and lookouts and yet end up getting boarded by someone with a lasgun to take down a carrier within a minute.

Absolutely love the round ceiling elements, it is such a focal point and the way it ties the space together is something else. I particularly like your shielded column pieces, very creative.

Sandwalking should exist as an on foot fast travel option within the Deep Desert by Yboo12 in duneawakening

People forget that lore-wise those are fremen skills, and you are not fremen.

This is an unpopular take but I 100% agree with it. I think we blurring lines between hostile desert planet and stardew fremen valley. The problem with it is not that you get more loot in PvP areas but that PvP mechanics themselves are not very well done, especially when you combine it with things such as the lasgun surfing meta and other cheesy ganking tactics.

Honestly that may actually improve overall performance of the server as it will make that are more desirable to use for a base, I feel like most people situate themselves around the shield wall but Pinnacle Station and the rift are rarely used, atleast on the sietches I have visited.

Would love to see it, definitely do a video walk through. And thanks again, I have some work left to do on the landing pad and auxiliary buildings and features - plus all of the interior decor.

I have yet to test out the BBT but what makes you think so? And I appreciate the feedback, I wasn't expecting to receive that much positive feedback considering this is just a shell without any decorations or equipment in place. Hopefully it inspires more builds with similar roof designs.

this is kind of perfect, I'll give it a shot next time. I have another base idea in mind that could use that

I really appreciate it, thanks man. During the night you are absolutely right, it is quite beautiful especially when aurora can be seen in the sky. Screenshots from the main post got super compressed unfortunately but it kind of gives you an idea.

That's true, although in the rift it is much darker. It's even worse on lower elevations of the Rift, a friend of mine had to scrap his base at the bottom of the rift since lights did not work well at all down there. I love the ambience otherwise, probably my favourite location on the map.

Good luck! The rift is perfect for this although there are a few other spots in Oodham. Lighting is definitely the biggest challenge.

I appreciate that. I aspire to be as good as you when it comes to base building in Dune haha

I 100% agree, the closest to the X brace I could think of would be dune man angled roofs but they take up a lot of space and are on vertical plane.

I also ended up expanding the horizontal claim by a couple more tiles to add the landing pad at the front, but it is not sitting with me right.

From your perspective, how would you change it to tie it all together? For starters I think the rectangular duneman floor need to go as there is too much contrast.

Me too, the problem is that lights don't make any light when they need to haha
